3 Welcome to Lima-Perú and BIOMET 2015 (UNI-FC) Dear friends and colleagues, Welcome to Perú for the Second Meeting of the Peruvian Bioinorganic Chemistry Society (SPQB) (BIOMET 2015) at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería. This is the second time the annual meeting of SPQB has been held in Lima, and it provides the opportunity for many Peruvian scientists working in the metal field to attend BIOMET for the second time. The BIOMET 2015 continues to expand and diversify, with important advances and discoveries both in fundamental aspects of metals in medicine and metals in environment. BIOMET 2015 will highlight the best of these advances, and will provide a stimulating environment for scientific discussion and exchange. Whether you are an experienced bioinorganic chemistry worker or just starting out in this fascinating field, there will be something to hold your attention. The scientific program was planned by the BIOMET in collaboration with the Local Organizing Committee (SPQB). Local arrangements and logistics were organized by the SPQB Lima is recognized as one of Perú s most beautiful cities and the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería provides a very pleasant environment for our second meeting.
