Versions overview Version Description History 1 Version by UL Environent 8/27/ Republished for one (1) year 8/3/2016 Editor s Notes: This PCR Addendu is based on adaptions ade to an existing PCR fro the Institut Bauen und Uwelt e.v., Floor coverings, v. 1.5 October Adaptions listed in this Addendu ake the PCR applicable to North Aerica and rely on the previously adapted IBU Part A by UL Environent to North Aerica. These include, but are not liited to: units, functional unit, ipact assessent ethods, testing ethods and requireents, use phase options, references, and standards. The intent is to follow ISO Section and utilize existing PCRs where relevant, justifying differences based on region, rather than origin. The revisions are not odifications to the overall ethodology or structure of the IBU PCR, but are intended to reflect practices, ethods and requireents that are specific to North Aerica.

3 1.0 INTRODUCTION TO THE ADDENDUM UL Environent has a utual recognition progra with IBU, a Geran EPD progra operator. In the spirit of consistency and as part of this utual recognition progra, UL Environent has haronized and regionalized the IBU core PCR, Part A, to be relevant for products sold and used in North Aerican arkets. As Phase II, UL Environent is now haronizing and regionalizing IBU Part B PCRs on an as-needed basis. 1.1 Purpose and Scope of this Addendu This Addendu creates a basis for utilizing an existing PCR, Part B: Floor Coverings, for the purposes of establishing a coon platfor for the counication of the life cycle ipact assessent results and other salient environental inforation. The Scope of this Addendu is applicable to flooring products, including resilient floor coverings anufactured fro plastics, linoleu, cork or rubber, excluding loose-laid at, textile floor coverings, excluding loose-laid ats and rug, lainate floor coverings, floor panels for loose-laying, and wooden flooring. This PCR Addendu is valid for two (2) years fro the date of publication. An annual review will be conducted whereby UL Environent will deterine the need for continuing this addendu. In such a case where there is a North Aerican PCR that is copleted and directly applicable, it is expected that this Addendu will no longer be needed, and UL Environent allow the Addendu to be replaced with the new PCR, as applicable. 2.0 Specific Adaptions to the IBU Part B PCR for Floor Coverings Scope Scope odified specifically to include wooden flooring. Reference requireents on the EPD including: o Requireents on the EN standard as a European core EPD for the purpose of consistency between declarations in Europe and the United States. o UL Environent General Progra Instructions Notes on use of the forat teplate The progra operator-specific EPD teplate ay be used for reporting.

4 Product-group-specific LCA calculation rules fro PCR part A Updated to include language fro IBU Part B for Solid wood products as relevant to wood flooring: Solid wood products Where glued products are involved, the ix of adhesives available on the arket (for group EPDs) or specific data can be used for calculation purposes. The approach selected ust be docuented. In the case of non-glued bonds, the binding ethod ust be declared in the EPD. The resource aspect of wood ust be balanced via the features inherent as a aterial as a CO 2 resource point fro the atosphere and the lower calorific value as consuption of renewable energy carriers. 2. It ust be established in line with all of the specific rules in the US product standards and ust also take consideration of the ISO , -2, -7 and -8 standards. Where inforation is available for deriving the RSL fro North Aerican product standards, such data has priority. If NA/US product standards are unavailable, use relevant ISO standard. If ISO standard is also unavailable, use European standard fro IBU PCR Extraordinary effects: If relevant, inforation on fire perforance according to the International Code Council (ICC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Disposal: The possible disposal channels ust be indicated. In accordance with US waste classification and disposal routes. 3. LCA: Calculation rules 3.1 If flooring product is wood-based, the oisture level on delivery ust be indicated. Also, the cobination of adhesives available on the arket or specific data can be used for calculating glued products. The approach selected ust be docuented. The type of bond ust be declared in the case of non-glued copounds. The ground reference ust be indicated. The resource aspect of wood ust be balanced via the features inherent as a aterial as a CO 2 resource point fro the atosphere and the lower calorific value as consuption of renewable energy carriers.

Results of the LCA Environental Ipact: Per the UL Environent Part A, TRACI ipacts shall be reported to insure a North Aerican context. Although not required, to achieve conforance with EN and the utual recognition progra with UL Environent and the Geran Institute for Construction & Environent s (IBU) Part A PCR, CML ipacts ust be reported. 8.
