17 Ten Years of Success (2015) ~35 additional bears in the endangered Cabinet- Yaak grizzly population; 3 beard moving out of historic range 166,000 acres of private land protected from subdivision and development 193 miles of highway assessed for mitigation of wildlife impacts with 2 animal detection systems deployed 130 landowners supported to install electric fencing 14 garbage transfer facilities made secure from bears 50 bear- resistant food lockers or garbage containers installed at forest service campgrounds 600 miles of forest access roads closed to motorized vehicles 7 miles of forest access road restored to full ecological function

18 Next Steps for Partnership Look beyond Grizzly Bears to more multi- species work, specifically mountain caribou Create a communications plan to raise the profile of the conservation work and partnerships in the Cabinet- Purcell Mountain Corridor Address access management across the region on resource and forest roads
