2 Consumers and NGOs are requesting sustainable supply chains and zero-(net)-deforestation so do palm processors Ensure traceability of palm oil and palm kernel oil to our supplier mills by December 31, 2015 and to plantations by 2020 to ensure zero deforestation in our palm oil supply chain Working with governments and other partners to embed no-deforestation objectives into national and international policies to ensure that products have not led to deforestation and that Nestlé and its suppliers are responsible stewards of the forests and forested areas from which they are sourcing materials L Oréal committed to zero deforestation and says it will source 100 percent renewable raw materials from sustainable sources by 2020 Deforestation policy targets our four raw materials with the greatest impacts on forests: beef, palm oil, pulp and paper and soy. By 2020, these supply chains will be deforestation free 2

6 Palm Oil Innovation Group (POIG) Launched in November 2013 by a group of international NGOs (including WWF, RAN and Greenpeace) POIG is a network and not a formal organisation, therefore all decisions made are based on consensus Aims to support the RSPO demonstrating innovation to implement RSPO existing standards as well as with additional critical issues Charta: Breaking the link between Palm Oil Expansion and Deforestation Forest Protection - Conserving and Restoring High Conservation Value (HCV) and High Carbon Stock (HCS) Areas, Partnerships with Communities and Corporate and Product Integrity Members: Agropalma, Danone, Boulder Brands, Daabon, Ferrero, Forest Peoples Programme, Greenpeace, ILRF, MUSIM MAS, Orangutan Land trust, Rainforest Action Network, SOS, Stephenson, Verité, Wetlands, WWF, Edeka, REWE Group 6

Major Companies signed the Indonesian Palm Oil Pledge (IPOP) 2014: Indonesian Chamber of Commerce facilitated signing of collaborative pledge between private actors of palm-oil sector Goal: Sustainable Palm Oil business practices No Deforesta;on No Peat No Exploita;on Signed by Wilmar, GAR, Cargill, Asian Agri, Musim Mas Environmental Activists & Companies themselves set up online platforms to monitor compliance 7
