Appendix A Responses to the Office of Ratepayer Advocates' Data Request Set SCE-008

Prepared by: Caroline McAndrews Title: Director, Preferred Resources Pilot Question 01: 1. Provide a definition of de minimis as used by SCE in this context. Response to Question 01: The term "de mimimis" that was used in this statement: "The incremental cost of the PRP RFO 2 procurement, approximately $0.20/month per average residential customer on a diminishing scale for 20 years, is a de minimis financial investment in attempting to secure a more certain future that will be increasingly dependent upon DERs." was meant to mean minor or minimal. To provide context, the LCR contracts targeting the PRP region and deployment in 2017 (see question 8 response) have a similar rate impact but do not deliver as many MW as the PRP RFO 2 contracts. The rate impact of 0.2%/month is not so minor as to imply it should be ignored, but rather in the full context of the sentence, meant to state that this minor impact is valuable to provide more information about DER performance and to advance CA's objectives of a cleaner grid.

Prepared by: Gene Lee Title: Contract Manager Question 02: 2. Identify the total amount of resources (in megawatts) SCE procured in its 2013 Local Capacity Requirement (LCR) request for offer (RFO) (2013 LCR RFO) in the Western LA Basin (as authorized in Decision ). Response to Question 02: 1, MW (1, MW were submitted in SCE s application seeking approval, however 70 MW were rejected by the CPUC). Please note that the numbers above reflect Contract MW. SCE's LCR testimony referenced LCR MW throughout as that was the need being fulfilled. LCR MW was defined as the August 2021 RA MW.

Prepared by: Matt Sheriff Title: Senior Project Manager Question 03: 3. Identify the rate impact associated with contracts (for the contract duration) approved resulting from SCE s 2013 LCR RFO in the Western LA Basin (i.e., $/month per average residential customer). Response to Question 03: Shown below is the maximum impact to the 2017 average residential bill of $107 of the contracts described above.

Prepared by: Gene Lee Title: Contract Manager Question 04: 4. Identify the total amount of preferred resources (in megawatts) SCE procured in its 2013 LCR RFO in the Western LA Basin (as authorized in Decision ). Response to Question 04: MW (SCE counts behind the meter storage as both storage and a preferred resource, since the product operates similar to demand response). In Front of the Meter (IFOM) Storage MW is not considered preferred in this context. Please note that the numbers above reflect Contract MW. SCE's LCR testimony referenced LCR MW throughout as that was the need being fulfilled. LCR MW was defined as the August 2021 RA MW.

Prepared by: Matt Sheriff Title: Senior Project Manager Question 05: 5. Identify the rate impact associated with preferred resource contracts (for the contract duration) approved resulting from SCE s 2013 LCR RFO in the Western LA Basin (i.e., $/month per average residential customer). Response to Question 05: Shown below is the maximum impact to the 2017 average residential bill of $107 of the contracts described above.

Prepared by: Gene Lee Title: Contract Manager Question 06: 6. Identify the total amount of energy storage resources (in megawatts) SCE procured in its 2013 LCR RFO in the Western LA Basin (as authorized in Decision ). Response to Question 06: MW behind the meter, 100 MW in front of the meter, for a total of MW of storage. Please note that the numbers above reflect Contract MW. SCE's LCR testimony referenced LCR MW throughout as that was the need being fulfilled. LCR MW was defined as the August 2021 RA MW.

Prepared by: Matt Sheriff Title: Senior Project Manager Question 07: 7. Identify the rate impact associated with energy storage contracts (for the contract duration) approved resulting from SCE s 2013 LCR RFO in the Western LA Basin (i.e., $/month per average residential customer). Response to Question 07: Shown below is the maximum impact to the 2017 average residential bill of $107 of the contracts described above.

Prepared by: Matt Sheriff Title: Senior Project Manager Question 08: 8. In SCE s 2013 LCR RFO Prepared Testimony at p. 59, SCE states that, based on a sensitivity analysis, SCE determined that 66 MW of PRP eligible MW was optimal and cost competitive for procurement in through its 2013 LCR RFO in the Johanna/Santiago sub-areas. Identify the rate impact associated with the 66 MW of PRP eligible MW (for the contract duration) SCE procured in its 2013 LCR RFO in the Western LA Basin (i.e., $/month per average residential customer). Response to Question 08: Shown below is the maximum impact to the 2017 average residential bill of $107 of the contracts described above.
