2 About egov-2007 Information Technology is a very important tool in the development of any society and has become the driving force in growth of economies worldwide. It has been found across the globe that Information Technology has resulted in providing a fast growth path for developing economies. E- governance Initiatives have resulted in improving core infrastructure and providing better services to citizens. IT has come a long way in changing the lives of the common man at the grass root level. The egov-2007 National conference titled Redefining Governance through IT" is being organized in the spirit of earlier national events organized by the Lucknow chapter in past from 17th and 18th Feb The conference will include invited lectures, contributed papers, panel discussions, paper presentations, vendor presentations, case studies and experience sharing in following theme areas: 1. e-governance Opportunities in Government & Administration 2. Enabling Technologies for e-governance 3. Value Creation through e-governance : Success Stories 4. e-governance : Challenges & Solutions Most of these detailed theme sessions would be held on the day 2 of the conference. Day 1 would include the inaugural session, keynote addresses, theme speeches and vendor presentations. Call for Papers The programme committee of egov-2007 invites papers for presentation at the conference. Papers not exceeding 8 pages formatted in Microsoft Word RTF or DOC in standard A4 size in portrait with Times New Roman font size of 12 and line spacing of 1.5, should be sent through as an attachment to rkscdri@gmail.com (write egov-2007 paper in subject area) and send hard copy along with a soft copy on CD to: Dr. R.K.
