3 Introduction The IRF Geneva Programme Centre is inviting you to a two-day event in Paris, France, on 16 and 17 April Combining IRF Statutory meetings on Wednesday 16 April with a Seminar on Road Safety, sustainable Development & Financing on Thursday 17 April, in cooperation with the Fédération internationale de l'automobile (FIA). The IRF and FIA will bring together key players in the road industry and mobility in the majestic city of Paris. Wednesday 16 April morning will be dedicated to the IRF Statutory meetings, open to IRF members only. In the afternoon, the IRF Committee on Road Financing & Economics, the Road Safety Group of Experts and the ITS Policy Committee will be convened. The Committees meetings will be open to IRF members and non-members. They represent a unique opportunity to discuss on-going developments in these fields and to exchange with peers. Thursday 17 April will feature a Seminar addressing the topics of Road Safety, Sustainable Development & Financing. Organised in collaboration with FIA (Fédération Internationale Automobile), the seminar will look into PPPs for road safety, the role of technology and education in reducing fatalities, financing mechanisms for sustainable and safe road networks development and maintenance, implications of the new EU Concession Directive, the Safer Road Investment Plans, and much more. Event Features Keynote presentations From high level specialists to introduce each session. The presentations will focus on practical solutions based on proven experience. IRF Committee meetings IRF s technical committees on ITS, Road Financing and Road Safety will meet to discuss plans and progress. Open to IRF-members and non-members. Networking Opportunities Coffee breaks, lunches and a dinner have been planned for delegates to develop contacts and personal connections with peers, clients and speakers. On-line Proceedings Presentations, pictures and conclusions of the Seminar will be available on-line. 3
