1 Date: 28 January 2019 Reference: LA/Elections INFORMATION TO PARTIES Nominations outstanding for bodies under the Convention, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement This is to remind Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement that are outstanding for the following bodies: The Bureau of the Conference of the Parties (COP), the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP) and the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA); The Bureau of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI); The Adaptation Fund Board (AFB); The Advisory Board of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN AB); The Compliance ; The Consultative Group of Experts (CGE); The Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM EB); The Joint Implementation Supervisory (JISC); The Measures (KCI); The (LCIPP) ; and The Standing on Finance (SCF). The full list of outstanding for each regional group and constituency is contained in the annex. Information on the positions elected at COP 24, the outstanding and the membership of all UNFCCC, Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement bodies is available on the UNFCCC website at the following link: < Distribution: To Parties through National Focal Points for climate change, Permanent s to the United Nations in New York and diplomatic missions accredited to the Federal Republic of Germany. 2 Page 2 Parties are invited to transmit the outstanding as soon as possible, in particular for the newly established Experts and the LCIPP. This will ensure that the bodies can conduct work with full membership. Further to the decisions of the COP, CMP and CMA at the Climate Change Conference (COP 24), outstanding from COP 24 should be submitted to the secretariat by Thursday, 28 February Once received by the secretariat, the candidates will be deemed elected or appointed at COP 24. Nominations to the Experts should be transmitted to the secretariat by Monday, 15 April Further to the decision of the COP, the secretariat will notify the Chairs of the subsidiary bodies of these appointments on 15 April Parties are therefore invited to consult and transmit their to the Chairs and Coordinators of their respective regional groups and constituencies. Chairs and Coordinators are urged to transmit the to the secretariat as soon as possible and in advance of the deadlines.
