National Institute of Open Schooling(NIOS) (An Autonomous Organisation of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India) A-24/25, Institutional Area, Sector 62, Noida (U.P) TENDER FOR SALE OF OLD/CONDEMNED VEHICLE(S) OF NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPEN SCHOOLING ABOUT THE INSTITUTE The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous organization of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. It provides education opportunities for Secondary and Senior Secondary levels and also for Vocational courses to persons who wish to study further and qualify for a better tomorrow. The mission of NIOS is to provide education to all with special concern for girls and women, rural youths, working men and women, SC and ST, differently abled persons and other disadvantaged persons who because of one or other reason could not continue their education with the formal system. NIOS operates through a network of Fifteen (15) Regional Centres and two (2) Sub-Regional Centres and about three thousand Accredited Institutions(AIs) and Accredited Vocational Institutions(AVIs) commonly known as Study Centres in India, Nepal and Middle East Countries. 2

3 Secretary, National Institute of Open Schooling invites sealed tender for the disposal of the following two numbers of Petrol Cars on as is where is basis. The cover should be prominently superscribed with the words TENDER FOR DISPOSAL OF OLD/CONDEMNED VEHICLE(S) OF NIOS. The bidders or their representative may be present, if they so desire, at the time of opening of quotation. The tender document can be downloaded from the website of as well as from TERMS AND CONDITONS: The sale will be governed by the following terms and condtions: 1. The Vehicle is to be disposed off on as is where is basis The Ambassador Car (s) be inspected by the Tenderers at the premises of National Institute of Open Schooling at A-24/25 Institutional Area Sector-62, Noida on all working days (Monday to Friday) between a.m. to 4.00 p.m. No guarantee for its worthiness or quality will be given by NIOS. 2. The interested Tenderers should fill in their bid amount in the relevant column in the prescribed form appended at Annexure-I. The tender form duly completed & sealed along with the signed Terms & conditions and Bank Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank, of Rs 10,000/- towards lumpsum Earnest Money Deposit payable in favour of the Secretary, National Institute of Open Schooling, A-24/25 Institutional Area, Sector -62, Noida should be deposited in the Tender Box kept at Maintenance Section, 2nd Floor, Room No. 204, NIOS, A-24/25, Sector-62, Noida well before the last date of submission of the tender as specified above. The tenders so received will be opened on the same day at 2.30 p.m. at the address given above in the presence of the interested tenderers/their authorized representatives who wish to be present. 3. The complete tender document is also available on NIOS website as well as at for the purpose of downloading. Those tenderer who download the tender document from NIOS website shall be required to deposit payment of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) Non Refundable separately in the form of Demand Draft in favour of the Secretary, National Institute of Open Schooling payable at Noida alongwith their complete tender form. Such downloaded form shall be considered valid for participating in tendering process and if received without requisite fee shall be summarily rejected. 3

Any offer received without the bank draft of Rs. 10,000/- and/or without prescribed tender form at Annexure-I along with terms and conditions of the tender duly signed by will not be considered. 5. The Sealed envelope containing the bid/offer along with EMD should be superscribed as Tender for Sale of Old/Condemned vehicle(s) of NIOS and deposited in the Tender Box kept at Maintenance Section, 2nd Floor, Room No. 204, NIOS, A-24/25, Sector-62, Noida for the said purpose. 6. The Highest offer of the vehicle will be treated as successful tender provided the same is accepted by the Competent Authority of NIOS. 7. The successful tenderer will be required to make full payment before collecting the vehicle(s) within seven days from the date of acceptance of the offer. The Earnest Money will be forfeited in case the successful tenderer fails to make the balance payment of vehicle(s) within the stipulated time. 8. The Earnest Money deposit will be returned to the unsuccessful tenderers after the acceptance of the offer to the successful tenderer(s). However, No interest shall be payable on EMD. 9. The successful bidder shall be required to submit documentary evidence in support of residential status viz, Voter Identity Card/Adhaar Card/Passport in case of individual and Registration Certificate in case of firms, etc alongwith the prescribed tender form. 10. After the date of possession of vehicle(s) by the successful bidder, NIOS will not be liable in any manner regarding its use & misuse. 11. Transfer of ownership of vehicle will be done by the successful bidder within 30 days at their own cost and other dues, if any, after the actual date of possession will be borne by the bidder. 12. Local sales tax will have to be paid by the successful tenderer over and above his / offer as per the Govt. Rules. 13. National Institute of Open Schooling reserves the right to reject any bid(s) or to cancel the disposal of vehicle(s) at any stage without assigned any reason. 14. Any dispute arising against this disposal, the decision of Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling shall be final and binding. Secretary 4
