2 Introduction EUFORES EUFORES is the European parliamentary network for renewable energy and energy efficiency with members from all major political groups in the European Parliament as well as in the EU 28 national Parliaments. EUFORES promotes the deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency within Europe. Therefore, it organises events and conferences to offer Parliamentarians and other key-players the opportunity to exchange their views. The annual Inter-Parliamentary Meeting is EUFORES largest event with usually Members of Parliaments from all over Europe. Parliamentarians are key actors when it comes to drafting legislation for renewable energy and energy efficiency, which is crucial for developing an effective and stable legislative framework for market development in those sectors. 18th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (IPM18) When: October 2018 Venue: Palais Auersperg (next to Parliament of Austria, which is closed due to refurbishment), Vienna, Austria Duration: 1,5 day conference Participants: Members of the European Parliament, Members of Parliaments of the EU28, parliamentary civil servants, government representatives, EUFORES non-parliamentary members, selected high level experts, participants. Information: IPM18 is organised in close cooperation with the incoming Austrian Presidency of the European Council and with the Parliament of Austria, which naturally makes it a high-level political event. As Austria takes over the Council Presidency on the 1 st of July 2018 and will play a crucial role in concluding the Clean Energy for all Europeans package, this parliamentary conference hopes to contribute to better and stable legislative frameworks anchored in this crucial package. Therefore, the legislative proposals covered under the Clean Energy package will be top of the agenda of the 18 th Inter-Parliamentary Meeting. The Inter-Parliamentary Meeting attracts Members of Parliament from all over Europe as well as core members of the EUFORES network. The first conference day focuses on renewable energy sources and related topics and the second conference day discusses energy efficiency. At this high-level meeting, top speakers from the Austrian Parliament, the European Parliament, national governments, the European Commission, industry representatives and many other experts will gather to discuss renewable energy and energy efficiency in the light of the Clean Energy Package. The conference offers excellent networking opportunities throughout the conference, as well as during a welcome reception on the night before the conference starts, a gala dinner held on the first conference day and a site-visit on the second conference day.
