Check to make sure you have a New Guided note packet (on Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources), POTD Sheet and Activity 34.1 Background Reading. 4. Explain Activity 34:2 Fossil Fuel Extraction. Homework: R&NR Guided Notes pgs. 1 & 2 Due Thursday. Fairchild Challenge Due on Dec. 7 th.

5 Data Collection: Day 1 1. Draw a sketch of your cookie before you start. Need to use color (green and brown preferred) 2. Need to find the weight of the weighing boat and the weight of your cookie. Record them on the back of background page. (by the oil wells) 3. Mine the cookie and collect the parts of the cookie in weighing boats. (one for each part) 4. Weigh the amounts of each part. Record them on the back of background page.

Continue working on Activity 34:2 Fossil Fuel Extraction. Reminder that only one lab will be turned in per group so make sure that the one you choose is neatly done and has all the data and calculations necessary. All of your grades depend on it! 2. Have your Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources Guided Notes out to be checked. Homework: Fairchild Challenge Due on Dec. 7 th.

8 Data Collection: Day 2 1. MAKE SURE YOU ARE LABELING YOUR DATA ON THE BACKGROUND PAGE. 2. Weigh the amounts of each part (Raisins/Seeds/etc). Record them on the back of background page. 3. Subtract the weight of the boat from your parts of a cookie weights. 4. To find the percentages : take the weight of the part and divide by the weight of the cookie and multiply by 100. Please round to the nearest tenth. 5. Show your work under the percentages. I want to see equations it is worth points!
