2 Low Global Warming Molecules New Hydro-Fluoro-Olefins have been developed: HFO-1234yf has been identified as replacement for R134a by the automotive industry. - It has an atmospheric life of only 11 days (12 years for HFC-134a) and an extremely low GWP of only 4 (1430 for R-134a). - ASHRAE std 34 has classified HFO-1234yf as low toxicity class A. HFO-1234ze, is currently replacing R-134a for one-component foam applications and looks promising for centrifugal chillers. - This molecule also has a very short atmospheric lifetime with a GWP of 6. - ASHRAE std 34 has classified HFO-1234ze as low toxicity class A. HFO-1234yf HFO-1234ze(E) Another molecule is currently under development and is code named N12. - Intended refrigerant application is low pressure centrifugal chillers. High temperature Heat Pumps and ORC. - It has a GWP of 7 and is non-flammable.

7 Compressor Development Frascold validation of its reciprocating compressor with Solstice L13. Better COP versus R134a across a wide range of operation. Frascold announced investing in next generation HFO optimised compressors..

8 HFO-1234ze in Commercial Refrigeration First HFO Chiller operational at Waitrose supermarket (South London). HFO 1234ze Water Chiller Important reduction in energy consumption versus identical R290 chiller reported.. Frascold /Geoclima tests show a 3.5% higher COP versus R134a Chiller.

9 Compressor Development Limited prototype availability to OEMs in April 2012 for development testing Significant energy efficiency increase over equivalent HCFC 134a compressors Designed with environmentally friendly, ultra-low GWP refrigerant HFO-1234ze Optimal solution for outdoor applications (air-cooled) Various Compressor technologies HFO ready.
