1 1. IDENTIFICATION OF THE SUBSTANCE/PREPARATION AND THE COMPANY Product name: Company: Telephone: Telefax: Emergency telephone number: SNF ZAC de Milieux Andrézieux France +33.(0) (0) (0) Product Use: Processing aid for industrial applications. 2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION Hazard Identification Spills produce extremely slippery surfaces. Harmful if swallowed. Harmful to aquatic organisms. May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. 3. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Identification: Dicyandiamide based coagulant in aqueous solution Regulated Components Chemical Name EC-No. Classification Weight % Guanidine, cyano-, polymer with ammonium chloride and formaldehyde Polymer Xn, R22; R52/53 50 The wording of the hazard symbols and Risk phrases is specified in section 16 if dangerous ingredients are mentioned. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES Skin contact: Remove and wash contaminated clothing and gloves, including the inside, before reuse. Wash off immediately with plenty of water. In case of persistent skin irritation, consult a physician. 1 of 5

2 Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. Consult a physician. Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray. Foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Precautions: Spills produce extremely slippery surfaces. Special protective equipment for firefighters: In case of fire, wear a self contained breathing apparatus. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal precautions: No special precautions required. Environmental precautions: As with all chemical products, do not flush into surface water. Methods for cleaning up: Dam up. Soak up with inert absorbent material. If liquid has been spilt in large quantities clean up promptly by scoop or vacuum. Keep in suitable and closed containers for disposal. After cleaning, flush away traces with water. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Storage Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. When preparing the working solution ensure there is adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. When using do not smoke. Keep in a dry cool place (0-30 C). Store in original container. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Freezing will affect the physical condition and may damage the material. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering measures Ensure adequate ventilation. Use local exhaust if misting occurs. Natural ventilation is adequate in absence of mists. Personal protective equipment Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment. Hand protection: PVC or other plastic material gloves. Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields. Do not wear contact lenses where this product is used. Skin and body protection: Chemical resistant apron or protective suit if splashing or repeated contact with solution is likely. 2 of 5

3 Hygiene measures Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. 9. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Form: Viscous liquid Color: Colorless Odor: None ph: 3-6 Specific Gravity: Flash point: >100 Freezing point ( C): -5 Autoignition temperature ( C): Not applicable Water solubility: Completely miscible LogPow: STABILITY AND REACTIVITY Stability: Stable. Hazardous polymerisation does not occur. Materials to avoid: Oxidizing agents may cause exothermic reactions. Hazardous decomposition products: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed. Burning of the dried material can produce: hydrogen chloride gas, nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon oxides. 11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION Acute toxicity Irritation Oral: LD50/oral/rat = 967 mg/kg. (OECD.N 401, 1987). Skin: The product is not expected to be toxic. Inhalation: The product is not expected to be toxic by inhalation. Skin: Prolonged skin contact may cause skin irritation and/or dermatitis. Eyes: May cause eye irritation with susceptible persons. Sensitization No information available. 3 of 5

4 12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Aquatic toxicity Toxicity to fish: LC50/96 hours > 10 mg/l (OECD 203) (Based on results obtained from tests on analogous products.) Toxicity to daphnia: EC(I)50/Daphnia m./48 hours > 10 mg/l (OECD 202) Toxicity to algae: Algal inhibition tests are not appropriate. The flocculation characteristics of the product interfere directly in the test medium preventing homogenous distribution which invalidates the test Environmental fate Persistence and degradability: Not readily biodegradable Hydrolysis: Does not hydrolyse Bioaccumulation: Does not bioaccumulate LogPow: DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS Waste from residues/unused products: Dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Contaminated packaging: Dispose of as special waste in compliance with the Control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations TRANSPORT INFORMATION ADR/RID Not classified as dangerous in the meaning of ADR/RID regulations. IMDG/IMO Not classified as dangerous in the meaning of IMO/IMDG transport regulations. ICAO/IATA Not classified as dangerous in the meaning of ICAO/IATA transport regulations. 4 of 5
