1 Onshore terminal plants Norconsult experience covers engineering consultancy services within development of new facilities (Green plants) and live plant modifications (Brown plants) For Green terminal plants the work involves activities from site location studies to detail design and construction management. This require a multidiscipline competence which includes a number of civil disciplines from initial geotechnical investigations to final landscaping. For Brown terminal plants, additional special focus is required on operational and personal safety, working environment, logistics and schedule. 2 Harbour and marine facilities Norconsult has gained a high competence in harbour developments in Norway and world wide, both technically and together with our complementary services within logistics, environment, risk, permitting. The Norconsult services cover all the technical aspects from harbour access fairways to jetties detail design. Our specialty is to serve the oil & gas industry needs for Product Carriers facilities, Construction/Module jetties and Service jetties. 3 Storage caverns and tanks Norconsult's high competence within rock engineering, hydrogeology and underground facilities have resulted in a number of unlined product storage caverns being constructed in Norway and abroad Underground storage of oil and gas products are environmental friendly, safe and economical favourable for large volumes and for gas with medium cool-down temperature. For above ground storage tanks for storage of LNG (- 162 C), Norconsult provides both structural and process design. 4 Onshore pipelines and landfall Norconsult experience covers design for onshore high/low pressure gas distribution systems, as well as shore approach and onshore pipelines from offshore installations. For onshore distribution systems, Norconsult performs concept studies and detail design covering civil, piping, electrical, instrumentation and operating systems. Work does also include energy balance and cost estimating. Design of pipeline shore approach is very challenging with solutions especially adapted to the actual location (trenches, rock tunnels, prefabricated culverts).
