It s not possible to really understand high purity water treatment without understanding basic water treatment chemistry and biology. This seminar will provide you with what you need to know. This seminar is designed to be a fun, interesting, step-by-step approach to knowing how each technology in a high purity water treatment system works, by having a good foundation of water treatment chemistry and biology. Even if you haven t had any chemistry and biology training you won t be lost. You ll be amazed at how much you ve learned even after just the first day! This seminar incorporates David H. Paul, Inc. s (DHP s) new training methodology for easy understanding and better retention (see below). DHP s seminar are designed to effectively train anyone with even a bad high school education. Even if you have a Bachelor s Degree, Master s Degree or Doctorate, however, you ll still benefit from our world-famous, easy-to-understand training methodology. Where else can you focus for 3 days on the chemistry, biology and technologies of high purity water treatment?

DHP s Training Methodology DHP uses the consulting services of a Doctor of Education from Columbia University (Dr. Linda Paul) in the development of its training seminars. DHP s training methodology includes: Short, interesting, interactive lecture sessions using: o Power Point slides o Video clips o Animations Group exercises to enhance understanding and retention Workshops to further enhance understanding and retention Optional daily open-book Knowledge Verification Exam to document what was learned A Knowledge Verification Exam is given each day. Don t worry you ll pass. Since 1988, DHP has been training water treatment personnel like you. We take you step-by-step through the knowledge and proficiencies needed to understand, monitor and find problems at an early stage in high purity water treatment systems. All exams are open book because nobody remembers everything for the rest of their lives but you ll know in the future where to get the information you need in the book. We provide a lot of repetition so that you will have no problem getting good scores. For example, to make sure that you understand the importance of good RO unit operation for reliable high purity water treatment, we: 1. First, provide an understanding of water treatment chemistry, RO membrane rejection, RO problems, RO pretreatment and other topics using a Power Point format. 2. Second, have numerous Group Exercises on the subjects to provide enhanced understanding. 3. Third, have workshops on the topics, which are also practice exams for the Knowledge Verification Exam at the end of the day. All workshops are performed in groups to aid in the learning experience. There will be no surprises on the daily Knowledge Verification Exams. You will have previously seen and answered similar questions in the workshops. NOTE: Knowledge Verification Exams are optional. If you don t want to use this seminar for recertification, you don t have to take the exams.

Who Should Attend Everyone who works with or designs, maintains, services high purity water treatment systems, including: Operators Maintenance personnel I & C Technicians Supervisors/Managers Engineers Original Equipment Manufacturers Service technicians More Why You Should Attend From a Personal Standpoint You can use this seminar for recertification (if you re in the certification program) Puts you in a better position for job advancement You can t get this information anywhere else The instructor has decades of practical high purity water treatment experience The instructor is a high purity water treatment consultant The instructor is a professional trainer The seminar covers the material in a step-by-step manner so that everyone will understand the concepts presented The presentation uses a multimedia format, with many videos and animations provided From an Employer s Standpoint Trained employees save you money by: o Having the knowledge needed to identify problems at an early stage o Having the ability to troubleshoot even difficult problems many high purity water treatment systems face o Using this knowledge to correct problems o Less down time of the water treatment system o Increased system performance Being able to show clients, customers and any applicable governmental agencies that your employees have been independently certified on their knowledge and proficiencies

What You'll Receive 24 hours of interesting, easy-to-understand training Highly illustrated workbook Break refreshments and lunch Personal attention: Questions & Comments are encouraged

Instructor Biography Your instructor will be one or more of the following David Paul is the President of David H. Paul, Inc. (DHP). He has been involved in many aspects of RO water treatment since He was an operator 2.5 years, a shift supervisor for 1 year and the manager of a $500 million USD (today's value) huge water treatment plant that included reverse osmosis. He founded DHP in Since then he has provided training and consulting services at BWRO and SWRO plants around the world. He is the author of over 160 published articles and several books on membrane water treatment. He holds a B.S. degree in biology and an M.S. degree in microbiology. David Paul, MS, ROS IV President Instructor/Consultant Bill Dees is an instructor/consultant and the Director of Training for David H. Paul, Inc. (DHP). Since 1988, his experience includes installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, training and consulting of water treatment systems including membrane, ion exchange, pretreatment and post-treatment equipment. Bill is also the Director of Technical Services for DHP, responsible for membrane module autopsies and consulting. Bill holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Water Treatment from San Juan College, DHP s first on-campus, college degree program. Bill Dees, AAS, ROS IV Director of Training & Technical Services Instructor/Consultant Richard (Dick) Youmans is an instructor/consultant and the Director of Sales & Certification for David H. Paul, Inc. (DHP).
