(2) Gallatin Public Utilities reserves the right to order from other suppliers if delivery dates are not satisfactory to this department. Delivery dates over 30 days must be noted in the bid. (3) Vendor must furnish manufacturer s product description and warranties. (4) Gallatin Public Utilities reserves the right to waive informalities and to accept or reject any and/or all bids. Gallatin Public Utilities reserves the right to accept any bid which in its opinion may be in the best interest of the Department (5) Submit bids in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside. (6) Prices shall be firm for a period of 12 months from the date of the initial order; with an option to extend the firm prices for a period of an additional 12 months, contingent upon successful performance of the bidder. 3 GALLATIN PUBLIC UTILITIES CHEMICAL SPECIFICATIONS ITEM #1 SODIUM SILICOFLUORIDE Shall be 99% Sodium Silicofluoride with 60% available fluoride content. This product shall be Sodium Silicofluoride (Na 2 Si F 6 ), in ground grade to insure proper feed rate through our chemical feeder. Product shall be delivered in 50 pound moisture proof bags. Estimated annual usage is 36,000 pounds. Please bid price per pound. ITEM #2 SODIUM POLYPHOSPHATE Shall be Aquadene Brand 7101 (Dry), the bid proposal and each shipment delivered to the plant shall have at the vendors expense a ion chromatogram ran, showing each phosphate present and in what levels. Product shall have the CAS numbers identified for each phosphate which can be verified for NSF approval. Product shall be delivered in 50 pound moisture proof bags. Estimated annual usage is 15,000 pounds. Please bid price per pound. ITEM #6 HIGH GRADE EVAPORATED SALT Salt +/- 500,000 pounds Shipments to be delivered in bulk tank truck loads. Product shall be a minimum of 99.7 percent pure with no anti-caking agents. ITEM #7 LIME KILN DUST The lime kiln dust used must have sufficient calcium oxide (CaO) content to allow the biosolids material to reach the required ph levels; and must be clean and free of any foreign material and debris. Chemical Properties: The lime kiln dust shall meet the following minimum and mean values: Available Calcium Oxide (CaO) 50.0% Mean Value 40.0% Minimum Acceptable Value Physical Properties: The lime kiln dust shall be free of debris such as rocks, metal pieces, wire, and/or any other objectionable material that could interfere with the beneficial re-use of the biosolids material produced, or that could interfere with or damage the Department s lime storage or dosing equipment, or other biosolids handling and processing equipment. Each delivery shall be accompanied by a certificate of analysis for the product supplied. Shipments of lime kiln dust to the Gallatin Wastewater Treatment Plant (1501 Lock 4 Road, Gallatin, Tennessee 37066) shall be made with ton bulk tank trucks. Estimated annual usage is 1,000 tons. ITEM #9 LIQUID CALCIUM NITRATE - BIOXIDE The material requested in this specification shall be used to control hydrogen sulfide thereby reducing odor and corrosion within the wastewater collection system. The material supplied shall provide nitrate-oxygen (via nitrate salts) to the wastewater to utilize and enhance naturally occurring biochemical processes to accomplish hydrogen sulfide prevention and removal. The material shall be chemically stable, thereby allowing the continuous removal of sulfides downstream of the application point. The material supplied shall be an aqueous solution of calcium nitrate containing a minimum of 60% calcium nitrate salt by weight. The material supplied shall have a minimum specific gravity of 1.45 The material supplied shall have a ph of not less than 5.0 and not greater than 7.5. The material supplied shall be capable of reducing the dissolved hydrogen sulfide concentration in the wastewater to less than 0.1 mg/l. The material supplied shall be free of any objectionable odor-producing compounds. The material supplied shall be completely soluble in water. The material supplied shall not contain any hazardous substances as defined by both the EPA and TDEC CERCLA lists. The supplier shall be responsible for the safe, clean delivery of the material supplied into the Owner s storage tanks. The supplier shall be responsible for the prompt cleanup of any spills made during delivery. The supplier shall be responsible for any damages to the Owner s tanks and/or feed systems that are directly attributable to the supplied product quality or delivery. All charges must be included in the per gallon bid price including freight, delivery, technical assistance, etc. All deliveries will be made between 7:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday. All deliveries will be as needed upon 72-hour notice. The quoted price shall include delivery to the various pump stations for Gallatin Public Utilities. The supplier shall provide pricing in terms of price per gallon delivered. The minimum nitrate-oxygen content in the solution must be provided in the bid and shall be expressed as pounds nitrate-oxygen per gallon of solution.

6 The quoted price shall be valid for delivery quantities of 2,500 to 4,000 gallons and multiple delivery sites per delivery. The estimated annual volume is 30,000 gallons. The product shall be of the brand name, unless otherwise approved. Please bid price per gallon.
