4 Manager's introduction Eduardo Vázquez Río Manager of the company I am Eduardo Vázquez Río, company manager, and I want to thank in advance all our clients the trust put on us, which added to the enthusiasm and effort of our human team, has given us the opportunity to present you Vrio Pack, an enterprising company, with big plans for the future and the basis settled in the professionalism of our work and satisfaction of our clients. I am delighted to lead this company, which I have seen grow with an impeccable path and in which I placed all my hope to create continuous future projects. The growth of Our Company stems from the persistence of a group of visionary professionals, united by a fi rm commitment, to contribute our expertise; and together they directed their efforts toward the creation and building of solid basis, that eventually would support what today represents Vrio Pack; which has proven its ability to overcome the challenges encountered, and has been able to meet the expectations of our client group. I understand the importance of investing in technology in its different areas, to discover, preserve, enhance and maximize the potential that the experience has given us so we can achieve the expectations and concerns our clients may need. 4

5 History 1978 A memorable year 1982 A year of growth 1997 A year of expansion 2000 An important year Vrio Pack is founded, its activity begins with a paper recycling depot in the town of Rábade, located 10 kilometres far from the Capital City of Lugo, where it remained until 1982, devoted to the collection of paper and with an innovative vision of recycling already. Vrio Pack moves to the capital city of Lugo and begins to market packaging in a facility of 1000 m 2. As a result of the continuous and increasing expansion it moves again and this time to a facility of 6000 m 2. The innovative desire of the manager and his enterprising spirit led him with a forwardlooking of the emerging market for the paper bag, to make a major change in the company, a project of the manufacturing paper bags for bread, buying the fi rst production line. 5

7 Vrio Pack today Nowadays, Vrio Pack is exclusively devoted to manufacturing paper bags, mainly for department stores throughout the world. The product range is wide, offering bags for bread, fi sh, pastries, paper for the oven, coil for bakeries, fruit, die-cut handle, fl at handle and envelopes with adhesive closure. It currently has: More than 80 employees. With a running of 24 hours, 350 days a year. 8 lines for manufacturing pouches = 700 M. bags. 2 production lines die-cut handle bags, one of which is the widest in Europe with 48 cm = 150 M bags. 1 line manufacturing bags fl at handle (the largest in Europe), an idea bag for supermarket s till = 150 M bags a year. Rewinders, micro-punchers, printers, etc. Manufacturing up to 1000 million bags for bread, fi sh, chicken, aircrafts... equivalent to about 8000 tons of paper. 7

13 Human team Founder: Eduardo Vázquez Río Management committee Consisting of 10 men and women who assume responsibility for the main areas of the company. The remaining working team is 80 people. Vrio Pack is governed by a policy of equality, motivation and continuous staff training, providing stability in the employment of their workers, resulting in a high percentage of established staff. The factory works continuously 24 hours a day, dividing the times of work in 3 shifts and 350 days a year. We have a design team that can fi t the image of your company to the bag of your need. 13

15 Commitment to the environment In Vrio Pack we committed to the environment, posing a new challenge in the manufacture of paper bags involving new alternatives that contribute to adapt our habits to protect the environment. Vrio Pack bag opens a new way of understanding the packaging, improving the customer and establishment s environmental awareness, and actively contributing to environmental protection. Paper doesn t mean to say deforestation, but the opposite, Vrio Pack providers are abide by the PEFC Forestry Certification, which guarantees sustainable forest management. The company s goal has always been manufacturing quality and environmental friendly products. These are products made with recycled and reused materials and are one hundred percent biodegradable, recyclable and are today s only sustainable alternative to the plastic bag. 15

17 In the manufacture of products are only used materials without risk of contamination, ecological materials, clean water-based inks, cold glues, sustainable forestry certified paper, used pallets, cardboard boxes and all that we can provide for an environmental care. Vrio Pack has at its disposal its own methods to recycle its waste, such as a waste water purifi er which purifi es the water generated during the cleaning of the printers ink rollers and from other machines, with the purpose of recycling and reusing it. In 2011 fl at handle paper bags characterized by being 100% recycled paper are manufactured. The pleasure of a well-done work and the achievement of all environmental guarantees have turned Vrio Pack into a leading company in Spain and Europe in the trade of this type of products. 17

19 New projects Hoping to continue contributing to the environmental care, Vrio Pack launches 4 new alternatives: Flat handle bag for stores: Reusing is the key to environmental sustainability, so it has been paid special attention to the refolding and storage of the bags for their straight and extended use. For this purpose the size and simplicity of the folds have been designed to suit the consumer s habits. It allows you to transport inside the equivalent of three of the current used bags for this purpose, so we get better utilization of space and which is the most important, a cost reduction. It is the so called Vrio Pack Plan 2015, an ambitious initiative that aims to bring to the market, by 2015 a total of 1,200 million paper bags used in supermarkets, which in turn will help to eliminate the current 2,500 million conventional plastic bags. This bag is only made from 100% recycled paper. 19

20 Die-cut handle paper bag for stores: For all types of stores, the alternative is the white paper bag or kraft with die-cut handle that can be manufactured in a great variety of sizes to suit the needs of each sector. In clothing, pharmacies, the records stores, gifts, bookstore and any other stores, they are an excellent choice for protecting the environment. 20

21 Envelope with adhesive closure: Time is becoming the more and more valuable, nowadays packaging a product in wrapping paper or another not only costs much money but we don t often get the desired stylish result. With the envelope presented by Vrio Pack not only the short time packaging is warranted, but the result will also be fully attractive. Our envelope may be large, with a maximum of 48 cm plus an expandable of 6 cm and a length of 76 cm. It will close with an adhesive and we ll be able to add a die-cut not to need another bag to be carried. We may manufacture any other lower measure to suit the client. 21

22 Window bag made of three pieces A window to your imagination, the new Vrio Pack bag will allow any possible options to be developed by design teams in printing and window sizes. This new three pieces manufacturing formula allows to produce the desired window size as well as printing on it without distinguishing between paper and polypropylene. This favours not only the product vision but as the fi nished bag dramatically improves its image. This bag is available with a hole at the top for hanging it. 22

24 Expansion France Portugal The market share in Spain of Vrio Pack reached the 38.95% in 2011, being the largest Spanish producer of pouches. Our goal of internationalization is that in 2015 the export turnover exceeds the national turnover, enhancing our position in those countries that we already export and creating new markets worldwide.
