19 Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Defines the maximum load (or amount) of pollution that a stream can receive and still be meet water quality standards. Outlines an implementation plan to bring an impaired waterbody into attainment with water quality standards.

20 TMDL-How do we get there? Water Quality and Biological Survey Technical Support Document (TSD) summarized survey data Identifies water bodies in full, partial, or non attainment of their designated uses Identifies causes and sources for impaired waters TMDLs are prepared for causes of impairment and implementation actions are created to address the sources contributing to the impairments.

21 New TMDL Process House Bill 49-Signed into law June 30, 2017 Multiple opportunities for stakeholder involvement Study plan Technical Support Document (TSD) Loading analysis plan (modeling approach, WQ targets) Preliminary modeling results (load allocations, wasteload allocations, margin of safety, future growth, permit limits, implementation plan) Draft TMDL report
