3 The Omni-Clean Series Commercial Cleaning and Oil Dispersant Products Delta-Omega Technologies' products known as the Omni-Clean series can be used in various concentrations and formulations in applications ranging from household cleaning to commercial oil rig cleaning and in certain environmental uses in oil spill clean up situations. The products in the Omni-Clean series are: (a) Omni-Clean HD (Heavy Deqreaser) - Omni-Clean HD is a heavy-duty, non-toxic, biodegradable water based cleaner/degreaser designed to compete with flammable solvents and harsh caustics without the associated environmental and safety hazards. Omni-Clean HD may be used in a variety of cleaning applications, including high or low pressure spraying and steam cleaning. Omni-Clean HD has been proven effective in numerous industries. Extensive testing has shown that Omni-Clean HD can replace a majority of the cleaners used in the fast food industry with notable reductions in product costs. Omni-Clean HD effectively removes oil embedded in concrete and has been approved for use by a major oil company for service station cleaning and maintenance. It has also proven effective in numerous other industries as a degreaser for heavy grease and soil build-up on equipment, engines and all types of machinery. (b) Omni-Clean OSD (Open Sea Dispersant) - Until recently, the only oil dispersants on the market were detergent or solvent based and acted as agents to reduce water surface tension thereby removing oil slicks from the water surface. The major disadvantages of detergent and solvent type dispersants are their significant levels of toxicity and the sinking effect they induce on the oil, resulting in damage to sensitive ocean floor organisms within the ecological food chain. Omni-Clean OSD is not a solvent or detergent. It is a water-based, non-toxic, biodegradable formulation that is described in the applicable patent (U.S. Patent number 4,992,213 issued February 12, 1991) as an oil dispersant, a cleaning composition and uses thereof. By dispersing the oil (a hydrocarbon) into minuscule droplets, Omni- Clean OSD accelerates the natural biodegradation process of the oil. Because it is non-toxic, Omni-Clean OSD produces no immediate or long term adverse effects on the environment. In addition, since Omni- Clean OSD does not induce the sinking effect of solvent or detergent based dispersants, all dispersed hydrocarbon particles remain buoyant due to the chemical properties of the formulation of Omni-Clean OSD. Omni-Clean OSD has been accepted for use as an oil dispersant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Contingency Plan (USEPA NCP) thus allowing its utilization as a dispersing agent with respect to oil spills in U.S. navigable waters. 1

12 OHNI-CLEAN ED SUGGESTED CLEANING GUIDELINES Omni-Clean HD is effective for a variety of cleaning uses. Since the applications will vary, dilution ratios will change depending upon the cleaning method used. Therefore, the following General Cleaninq Techniques and Cleaninq Methods are suggested as guidelines to determine the appropriate dilution ratio and cleaning method to successfully complete the required cleaning task. There are three necessary factors t o be considered in determining the optimum cleaning technique using Omni-Clean HD: PRODUCT DILUTION - Use in various dilutions ranging from "neat" to a ratio of product to water. The optimum product dilution ratio depends on the type of soil being cleaned and the type of agitation used. Often, increasing the amount of water in the solution instead of product is more effective - MORE PRODUCT IS NOT NECESSARILY BETTER WHEN USING OMNI-CLEAN HD. AGITATION - Some form of agitation is a key factor which may be enhanced through the use of pressure sprayers, heat, brushes, aeration or contact time. - WATER - Sufficient volume of wash/rinse water is necessary to carry away the cleaner and suspended contaminant particles. GENERAL CLEANING TECHNIQUES 1) For heavy degreasing of engines, heavy equipment and industrial plant applications, use Omni-Clean HD as outlined in Cleaning Methods #1, #2 or #3. 2) To clean parking lots, driveways and brick or masonry structures, use Omni-Clean HD as outlined in Cleaning Methods #1, #2 or # 4, OMNI-CLEAN SHOULD NOT BE USED ON BLACKTOP SURFACES AS THE PRODUCT WILL LOOSEN THE BONDS OF THE ASPHALT. 3) To clean individual parts from engines and equipment, use Omni-Clean HD as outlined in Cleaning Method #3. Immersing small parts in a vat containing a 1:lO dilution (Omni-Clean HD:water) prior to scrubbing will aid in the cleaning process. 14

13 4) Spot removal on carpet, draperies, upholstered furniture and other fabric: a) Blot any excess spilled substance with a dry cloth. Do not rub. b) Apply enough 1:5 to 1:lO solution (Omni-Clean HD:water) to cover the spotted area on the fabric. c) Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes. d) Using a damp cloth, rub only in the direction of the fabric weave until a foam forms. Repeat as needed. e) Blot the foam with a clean wet cloth. Rub only in the direction of the fabric weave. f) Apply clean water to rinse away the Omni-Clean HD solution. g) Pat the cleaned areas dry with a cloth. Vacuum the spot when completely dry. 5) General cleaning of carpets, draperies and upholstered.furniture using a hot water extraction unit (wet vacuum): a) Use 2 ounces of Omni-Clean HD for every gallon of water in the unit reservoir. - - b) Follow the operating instructions outlined in the unit's instruction manual. 6) Hard surface - wood, tile, etc. - floor cleaning, mop method: a) Use 2 ounces of Omni-Clean HD for every gallon of water. b) Follow standard mopping procedures. 7) Laundry a) Pre-treat heavily soiled fabric with a 1:5 solution (Omni- Clean HD:water). b) Add 1 ounce of Omni-Clean HD for every 4 pounds of laundry in a standard or industrial washing machine. c) Follow normal machine instructions. 8) To clean a deep-fryer unit: a) Remove the grease or oil from the fryer unit. b) Place 15 ounces of Omni-Clean HD for every gallon that the unit reservoir holds. c) Add water to fill the unit reservoir. d) Heat the liquid to boiling. e) Use a scraper or a scrub brush to remove any built-up residue. Wear rubber gloves for protection from the heated 1 iquid. f) Empty the liquid and wipe clean. 15

14 . CLEANING METHODS 1) Pressure Washer Method - use a high pressure washer with a chemical (soap) inductor tube. a) Adjust the chemical induction tube feed control to a position that just begins to pick up the Omni-Clean HD. NOTE: Because of the viscosity of Omni-Clean HD, it may need to be diluted 1:l to 1:3 with water before being used for pressure washing. b) Hold the nozzle tip the appropriate distance from the surface to be cleaned. Apply the solution to the surface. Repeat as necessary. c) Shut off the chemical induction feed control and repeat Step "b" using plain water as a rinse. Continue until all suds subside. Modified Sprayer Method a) Wet the surface to be cleaned using plain water. b) Apply a 1:l to 1:5 mixture (Omni-Clean HD:water) to the surface to be cleaned. c) Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow to stand longer on areas with-heavier greases or dirt build-up. d) For best results, agitate to form a foamy emulsion. Best results are achieved by letting the foam penetrate for an additional 5-10 minutes, before performing Step "e". e) Rinse with plain water under pressure (from a garden hose, etc.) to remove the dirt and grease. 3) Scrub Method a) Wet the surface to be cleaned with plain water. b) Apply a 1:5 to 1:lO dilution (Omni-Clean HD:water) to the bristles of a scrub brush or on a scouring pad. c) Scrub the area until a foamy emulsion forms. d) Rinse with plain water. 4) Rotary Bristle-Brush Method Spray or apply Omni-Clean HD using a 1:l dilution directly on the surface to be cleaned. Scrub briskly with a stiff bristled brush. Spray on more solution and allow at least a one hour saturation period. Repeat procedure on all spots. Apply a 1:s dilution of Omni-Clean HD to a large surface area. Agitate surface with the buffer. Rinse well with water. Repeat if necessary. 16
