2 RAISING THE STANDARDS A NOTE FROM LEADERSHIP From the beginning, the original developers of Ballantyne, a nationally renowned, 2,000-acre community, recognized the importance of creating environmental sustainability within the office environment as well as amongst customers and the community. Over two decades ago, Ballantyne s master planners began their commitment to creating a strong infrastructure from family farmland. Long stewards of the environment, Northwood Office remains committed to sustainable business practices. Home to more than 2.5 million square feet of LEED Gold-certified office space, Ballantyne dedicated large areas of open space for healthy living including 16 miles of sidewalks, bike paths and numerous parks and ponds. Northwood not only epitomizes responsible development but also engages in comprehensive sustainable business practices. Northwood also drives community outreach by encouraging sustainability awareness through its annual Earth Day Event, Native Bird Nesting Program and ongoing recycling efforts throughout the year.
