3 National Renewable Action Plans Latest Analysis on Progress of RES done in Jan.2011 (foreseen to update May 2013) Planned growth to 2020 leading to 20.7% by 2020 Total renewable energy consumption will double from 103 Mtoe (2005) to 217 Mtoe (2020) Combined EU renewable energy shares in the 3 sectors in 2020 (projections): Electricity from renewable sources 34% (today: 18%) Heating & cooling from renewable sources 21 % (today: 12%) Transport from renewable sources 11% (today: 5%)

10 FP7 Hybrid System - EC Support 6.1 M Sunstore 4 - Consortium led by Marstal Fjernvarme (DK) Duration: 4 years (07/10 06/14) Consortium: 3 Industrials, 4 engineering, 1 EU association, 3 consulting ( planer, dissemination organisation) The new energy system 15,000 m2 solar system; 4.0 MW wood chips oil boiler including thermal oil boiler for ORC. Heat output 3,25 MW -750 kwel 75,000 m3 pit heat storage; 1,5 MW (thermal) CO2 driven heat pump; Yearly heat production, totally 28,000 MWh. 10
