3 New Technologies and Special Machine Components Polymer Materials with Natural Fillers

4 Today s development of the polymer materials and the processing technologies is more and more intense directed at so-called green materials and technologies using the natural materials in many different applications. From the procedural-technological point of view it is focused on the substitution of the mineral fibers (e.g. like glass fibers) by the natural origin fibers. The interest among polymer materials processors about such process (to substitute the synthetic fillers by the natural origin fillers) has revealed a rapid rise. Polymers and their composites generally belong to the most progressive and developing materials not only in the automotive industry but also e.g. in the consumer industry, medical applications and so on. From the present state analysis and on the base of the cooperation with the industrial subjects in the branch of plastics processing there are resulting two differently motivated requirements for special synthetic polymers modifications by means of the natural materials. As a result of applied research which satisfied these requirements there are newly developed materials based on the polypropylene matrixes containing natural fibers fillers of the different types to substitute standard fillers (e.g. talc, glass fibers and so on). In comparison with the synthetic or mineral fibers materials there is advantage of the natural origin fibers their lower weight, lower abrasion of processing tools, combustibility, non-toxicity, biodegradability and last but not least markedly lower price which is independent on the oil price. cxi.tul.cz

5 Despite of the all advantages mentioned above about using of the natural materials within the frame of polymer composites, their widening in the Czech Republic is not on such level to fulfill the real potential of these materials. Thus there is quite huge area to increase the domestic products competitive strength in comparison with the world production. That is why by this paperback we are allowing to offer you for the technological tests injection types of composites materials which have synthetic (polypropylene) matrixes with the natural origin fibers fillers (fibers of coconut, flax, cellulose and so on) and with the different natural phase weight percentage amount. Benefit by using these materials can be expecting within the frame of lowering product utility properties and also it s price, increasing using of the rerenewable stock resources. Especially these days green character of the products with their competitive prices is also another great bonus. Chosen properties of some materials can be found in the form of well-arranged graphs and figures on the following pages of this paperback. Regarding the development in the world its economical and social tendencies, using of the materials based on the natural elements will be still increasing. In the branch of the polymer materials this will be reality mainly due to the favorable properties, lower price and positive contribution to the sustainable development of the polymer composites with natural phase.
