2 Blue Growth Vigo 2020 Introduction The Blue Growth is the strategy of the European Commission for recovery of the European economy. This strategy aims to relaunch the Maritime Economy or Blue Economy, identify the determinant factors of it and the set of actions capable of promoting employment and economic growth in a sustainable manner. The Port of Vigo has been the first port in the European Union that implements the Blue Growth Strategy in a integral and holistic way. It is the conviction of the Port of Vigo that the promotion of the Blue Economy must be realized in all sectors in a balanced way and at the same time

4 Blue Economy in the Port of Vigo INTEGRATION of economic sectores directly and indirectly, dependant on sea. 14 groups were set up: (14 sectors related to blue economy) Sectorial INTERRELATION is done on common competences basis and sharing infrastructures (Port of Vigo) All this depends on that other non directly related sectors make use of the sea in a SUSTAINABLE WAY. Blue economy bases on VALUE of a Generation focus. It is an ongoing as well as inclusive initiative: more tan 250 people participated in the working groups. 5 Results: Working groups, Projects and Actions. At the starting point: 38 projects and 44 actions to be carried out during , aimed to achieve Blue Growth objectives by Currently: 48 projects and 45 actions. This is a LIVELY process

6 Implementation 48% of the PROJECTS are active: under implementation, actively seraching for funding, under design 50% of ACTIONS are under implementation. 16% of ACTIONS are succcessfully finished 100% of WORKING GROUPS started their activity Every group has at least one Project / action going on or finished 23% of the initially ESTIMATED BUDGET is being used 47/250 milion (estimated for )

9 Tutatis n-ze Cíes Green Port Objetive: Pilot Project model sustainable system for better use of natural resources, integrated in natural environment, able to cover energy and water demand in the island. 100% renewable energy referred to electric and thermic energy. Use of energy surplus to guarantee sustainable mobility and zero emissions of CO 2 y NOx. 10 SEPORHA Green Port Objetive: To promote a model of Self-sustainable Port, improving energy efficiency and sustainability in port environments, adopting innovative energy technologies Innovative systems for generating energy from renewable sources (solar, wind ) Mobile electrical and thermal supply system to vessels from liquefied natural gas (LNG) Storage systems and smart grids for the intelligent management of the network Smart Fish Market Sustainable Port Mobility Stakeholders: Port authorities Port community Estimated Budget Impact: Very High Competitiviness: Diversification of the energy sector. Modernization of the primary sector. Boost of ICTs Environment: Reduction of impact and CO 2 emmisions. Use of natural resources

First Public Private Partnership within legal innovation in Spain Starting up in less than 6 months Activities and services: training, dissemination, high specialized studies, cooperation projects, others. 14 Association of Marine sector in Ría de Vigo Connected Port Objective: Promoting competitiviness of nautical sector by associativism. Private Public partnership in the nautical sector in Ría de Vigo all along value chain. To be implemented in 8 months. (actually it is in final process) Activities and services: training, information, projects, local and international commercialization. Feasability study is done.
