2 NWI Progressing Cavity Pumps NWI Progressing Cavity Pumps In the beginning of the oil production the reservoirs have a certain energy quantity, called Primary Energy. Along to the productive process occurs the dissipate of the primary energy consequent a reduction of the well productions. The secondary recovery is the additional quantity of oil obtained by artificial addition of energy to the reservoir. The method of secondary recovery more usual utilized is the injection of formation water. Due the chemical compatibility, the produced water is reinjected in the reservais thereby treatment and disposal costs are avoided. For this application, NETZSCH developed the NWI series (NETZSCH Water Injection) Advantages It is not necessary BOOSTER Pumps (due the lower NPSH required) Permanent flow without pulsation Low pressure on the sealing box Solid tolerance Low cost of the initial investiment Low cost of maintenance No fluids emulsions Project possibilities with connected modules or individualy Applications Formation water injection Seawater injection Polymer injection High pressure oil transfer Capacities Pressures from 0 to 0 bar Flow to 800 m³/day Temperatures -0 to C Drive Gear Reducer Suction Flange Dn Suction Discharge Flange Dn Discharge

4 Absorbed Power Diagram To determine the pump absorbed power, the diagram below can be used. In this diagram, the product must be ΔPr x Qr. ΔPr=Application Differential Pressure (bar) Qr= Required Application flow (m³ / day) Application Example ΔPr= bar and Qr= 00m³ / day Product: (ΔPr x Qr) = x 00 Product: (ΔPr x Qr) = 000 Consumption: 80 kw 0HP Absorbed Power Product [ΔPr x Qr] Required Pump Rotation (approximate) To determine the pump rotation, the diagram below can be used: n = x Qr K Qn Qn = As per model (rated flow) [rpm] ΔPn = model maximum pressure [Bar] For the above application example k = 0, 9-0, x ΔPr ΔPn Qr = 00 m³/day Qn = m³/day ΔPr = [bar] ΔPn = [bar] k = 0,8 n = rpm

5 Main Components Rotor Shaft Sealing Materials with wear and corrosion resistant. Stator Vulcanized into the tube with sealing on both sides in a range of elastomer types. Suction/Discharge Flanges Suction: standard Flange ANSI B. Class 0 PSI. Discharge: standard Flange ANSI B. Class 00 to 00 PSI. Other connection/flange types available. Standardized project with mechanical seal wear-resistant and with environment protection. (optional gaskets) Drive By means of motoreducers (pulleys and belts optional) and electrical NEMA and/or IEC industrial motors complying requirements such as voltage, frequency, isolation class, classified areas etc. Optionals Joints and Coupling Shaft By-pass + Relief valve Coupling shaft and two joints for power transmission from the drive to the rotor (standard joint type K - gear wheel). Dry-run device STP Electrical panel + pressure transducer
