The Ingenious Inline Check Valve 1

History The Ingenious Inline Check Valve Original WaStop was developed approx. 3.2 million years ago. The modern version was developed in the year 2000 to improve function, be less vulnerable to failure and reduce head loss compared to already existing check valves. CE-approved for residential sewer applications for dimensions up to 200mm (8 ), European standard SS-EN Patented & trade marked in EU, USA & CAN, and in Asia. 2

Case studies The ORIGINAL Ingenious WaStop is sold in many countries. Sweden - Norway Denmark - Finland Poland England Ireland Scotland Russia Switzerland Germany Austria Netherlands Belgium Czech Republic Croatia Slovenia Portugal Spain Italy United States Canada South Korea New Zealand Australia Lithuania Estonia Cuba United Arab Emirates Mauritius Iceland Hungary Cyprus - Singapore 3

The Ingenious Inline Check Valve Applications To minimize energy consumption for pumping systems Prevent tidal water flowing back into the drainage systems Stormwater outlets in the sea, lakes Third and level rivers Treatment plants Tank overflows Prevent invasion from insects and small Fifth animals level Protect houses and buildings from flooding Stop odor spreading 4

WaStop DN (NPS ) New Zealand In Porirua City, New Zealand, the city council ordered seven additional WaStop valves following its initial installation that proved effective in stopping the encroachment of tidal waters into its stormwater pipe and occupying vital network capacity. Porirua has a number of outlets are very flat on their approach to the harbor, which generally means they are severely influenced by high tide. The problem with the outlets is that if a rainfall event coincides with a high tide, the ability of the stormwater network to discharge is severely restricted. This creates a build up of water levels within the network and restricts flow into the system from private properties. This leads to localized flooding or ponding, restricting flow from sumps, or discharging at a point of least resistance within the network - generally in manholes that are often situated on or across private property resulting in severe flood damage. During a storm event, the WaStop operates when the flow begins to build up behind it at the outlet - it takes very little head to open the WaStop allowing normal discharge into the harbor, as the flow recedes within the network and the pressure and head reduce the WaStop then adjusts and closes once again stopping infiltration or back flow. 5

WaStop DN1500 (NPS 60 ) PE Ale, Sweden Curved duck bill replacement. A curved duck bill valve had been installed in Ale Council to protect against high water levels. During a routine control they discovered that the valve Third was completely level destroyed and unable to function. The valve was open for flow in both directions and had lost its elasticity. A WaStop valve was chosen to replace the curved Fourth duckbill. A level PE valve was chosen to enable a complete construction with flange and all details installed ready for installation directly from our factory. The installation was quick and easy and the contractor Fifth was satisfied level with the quality of the product and ease of installation. 8

WaStop DN1200 (NPS 48 ) Karlshamn, Sweden The purpose of this installation is to prevent sea water forcing into storm water pipes during periods of high water levels. The concrete pipe was cut to allow simple and Third water tight level installation of the customized WaStop. The installation was then finished with a customized acid-resistant flange. Three smaller WaStop valves were built into the bottom of the unit to prevent damming. 9

WaStop DN100 (NPS 4 ) Oslo, Norway WaStop DN 100 installed in sewer drains for odor control. Torg Street in Olso has had an ongoing and longstanding problem with sewage odors from the sewer drains. To stop this problem 52 WaStop DN100 Third (NPS 4 ) have level been installed. These check valves prevent gases and odors from being forced up to the street. 10
