I. Product Information This monitor is designed to help evaluate the indoor air quality of home, office or any other indoor area where we spend most of the time. It is vital to our health to breathe clean air and take action if it is polluted. Based on EPA studies, most of people s health problems are caused by poor indoor air quality that is 2 to 5 times worse than outdoors. This unit is equipped to detect and evaluate levels of the following factors: (1) PM2.5 and PM10 - Particulate Matter (PM), also known as particle pollution, is a complex mixture of extremely small particles and liquid droplets that get into the air. Number next to PM indicates the diameter of the fine inhalable particles. In case of PM2.5 it is 2.5 micrometers (around inch) and smaller. As for PM10 it is 10 micrometers (around inch) and smaller. (2) Formaldehyde (CH 2 O) - is a colorless, flammable gas at room temperature and has a strong odor. Exposure to formaldehyde may cause adverse health effects. (3) TVOC Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. According to EPA studies indicated that while people are using products containing organic chemicals, they can expose themselves and others to very high pollutant levels, and elevated concentrations can persist in the air long after the activity is completed. (4) Humidity - Indoor Relative Humidity (RH) should be kept below 60 percent, ideally between 30 percent and 50 percent, if possible. (5) Temperature This unit can only measure in Celsius. Fahrenheit option is currently under development. 3

For mode switch: please press the button for more than 3 seconds to switch between HCHO/TVOC and PM2.5/PM10 displays. Note: When switching from PM2.5/PM10 mode to HCHO/TVOC mode the instrument is set to calibrate for 120 sec. After calibrating process is done the HCHO/TVOC data will display on the screen. Note: Battery Indication Light only applies for Battery-Equipped Models. 4

II. Important Functionality Notes: 1. After the first use, when the monitor is turned ON and OFF for several times you might experience that immediately after HCHO/TVOC mode is activated it may show very high values (red light serious pollution). Please press the button for more than 3 sec. This will clear the values and reliable monitoring will take place. This happens due to the sensor data fluctuation process. 2. To reset values on HCHO/TVOC or PM2.5/PM10 displays as well as average readings in the top right corner simply turn OFF/ON the device. 3. To re-calibrate the PM2.5/PM10 sensor press the button for 8 seconds then 120 second sensor calibrating process will take place. After the calibrating process is done the data will display on the screen. Important: use this only if advised or if there is an error with the sensor. 4.To re-calibrate the HCHO/TVOC sensor please press the button for 8 seconds then 120 second sensor calibrating process will take place. After the calibrating process is done the data will display on the screen. 5.To freeze the data in place please quickly press and release the button. The wording on the display will start blinking. This means data freeze is on. To unfreeze the data please repeat the same process again. 6. If any error happens on this device, please try to re-calibrate the appropriate sensor as mentioned in step 3 and step 4. If those steps will not solve your issue, please immediately contact us for assistance. 5

This will happen due to higher air circulation rate. Please be aware that we do recommend using the monitor as a stationary unit and focus on 30 and 60 minute average values in the right upper corner. 6

IV. Settings Power on/off button Press for 3 sec. to turn on/off (press once the button will freeze the real-time data of PM2.5/PM10 or HCHO/TVOC. Re-press the button will restore to normal condition). Time Setting button Press to choose clock setting (year/month/day or time) than press or to adjust the time. Sound Button Press to On/Off the alarm buzzer(press for 3 sec. to switch between PM2.5/PM10 and HCHO/TVOC displays). The alarm will trigger when the air quality level is in pollution level. Power saving button Press to On/Off LED display light. 8

V. Sources of Harmful Substances Indoor pollution Decorations Common harmful substances Pollution from outside Building materials, decoration materials, dust, etc. Wall paper, wall paintings, carpet, curtain, furniture, supplies, etc. Garbage, cosmetics, detergents, pesticides, printing ink, preservatives, mosquito-repellent, cigarette smoke, etc. Industrial waste gas, dust from the construction sites, etc. Recommended methods to control harmful substances 1 Air purifier 4 Natural ventilation 2 Activated carbon absorption 5 Indoor plants 3 Cleaning 6 Elimination of pollution sources 9

VI. Precautions 1. Concerning home or car air quality monitoring: Please close the doors and windows before detection, and turn off the fan, air conditioner or air purification equipment, as well as any other equipment that can affect the air quality in order to receive accurate readings about the surrounding environment. It is recommended to use 60 minute average values as for accurate and effective assessments of air quality. 2. Please avoid direct contact with any liquid, paint, printing ink, aldehydes, benzene (petrol), HS/CO/SO/NO smoke, and high concentration of dust. 3. Do not place the monitor in an environment with a high consistency of gas, smoke and/or dust. This will cause inaccurate readings and can permanently damage the sensors. Note: This monitor is for personal home use only. Please do not compare it with specialized experimental instruments or use it for commercial or industrial use. 10
