2 astral led Characteristics - luminaire Optical compartment tightness level:ip 66 (*) Gear tray tightness level: IP 44 (**) Impact resistance: IK 08 (**) Nominal voltage: V / 50-60Hz Electrical class: I (*) Materials: Body: Anodised aluminium Protector: Tempered glass Gear tray: Galvanised steel (*) according to IEC-EN (**) according to IEC-EN KEY ADVANTAGES Excellent uniformity and significant energy savings Excellent visual comfort (no glare) Flexible photometry (symmetrical/asymmetrical distributions) Decorative design Various mounting possibilities (standard, elliptical, corner mounted) Integrated extra features (cameras, loudspeakers...) Integrated cable tray Sealed optical compartment (IP 66) Fire-resistant materials Easy installation Tool free maintenance Easy to incorporate into a full control system to maximise dimming options Highly efficient modular LED lighting for closed areas The Astral LED offers up-to-date LED technology in a proven design. It provides huge energy savings while integrating extra features such as loudspeakers in an attractive modern shape. The Astral LED is a modular and aesthetic LED lighting solution for metro or railway stations, underpasses and other closed areas where a high tightness level is needed. In an underground station, it is the perfect tool to light platforms as well as corridors, stairs and other enclosed areas. The luminaire is composed of an extruded aluminium profile with a tempered glass protector to ensure high impact resistance (IK 08). The materials used are fireresistant. options Single or twin reflectors 1 to 6 LED modules 1-10V or DALI dimming Suspended, surface mounted or recessed versions

3 Astral led MAXIMUM ENERGY SAVINGS A minimal total cost of ownership was the driving force behind the development of the Astral LED. It is equipped with LEDs and can offer various dimming and remote management options for a dramatic reduction in energy consumption. It offers a very competitive alternative to luminaires equipped with fluorescent lamps. PERFORMANCE AND FLEXIBILITY The Astral LED provides outstanding results in luminance and uniformity. Optimal photometry is guaranteed by high-performing symmetrical or asymmetrical reflectors and modules of high-power LEDs (1 to 6 modules). The luminaire modules are hooked onto the housing. Three different lengths are available for new installations or for replacing the traditional Astral luminaires equipped with fluorescent lamps. It comes with different tempered glass protectors (slightly structured or sanded) to suit specific applications with low glare. beyond light The anodised profile of the Astral LED means that it can be used for much more than lighting as it can be equipped with surveillance cameras, loudspeakers, emergency signage and other features. The extruded aluminium profile also serves as an integrated cable tray to gather and hide the power supplies and the control cables. The Astral LED can be dimmed and controlled via a 1-10V controler or a DALI protocol. It can be integrated into the main control system of a station. Easy installation and maintenance The Astral LED can be recessed in the ceiling, suspended or integrated in a surface mounted housing. All mounting operations are very easy. Thanks to the very long lifespan of all the Astral LED components, maintenance operations are very limited. Futureproof The optical unit and the control gear can be easily removed, allowing real on-site replacement at the end of its service life in order to take advantage of future technological developments. This easy and rapid procedure reduces maintenance costs and contributes to minimising the total cost of ownership. astral led

4 astral led PHOTOMETRY With a colour rendering index greater than 70 (CRI 70), the Astral LED diffuses a gentle white light that provides excellent colour recognition. This means that any on-site branding is not impaired by the light and that users can easily identify and use devices in the surrounding environment (signage, credit cards, smartphones, tablets, etc.). The real flux output of the luminaire depends on environmental conditions (e.g. temperature and pollution) and the optical efficiency of luminaire. Nominal flux depends on the type of LED in use and is likely is to change in accordance with the continuous and rapid developments in LED technology. 6 astral led Claw in the form of a DIN rail. Pre-wiring receptacle and clamps mounting. In the tilted position, the luminaire can be extracted from the profile. T-slot for suspension. Upper receptacle for cables (surface area 2 x 32.5cm 2 ). Claw for attaching the closing sheet metal plate outside the luminaire. Structured hardened glass protector; excellent impact resistance and low glare. End-cap in anodised aluminium. IP 66 sealed optical unit with high brightness reflector. Easy installation and connection by one person only: optical unit simply hooks onto housing. case study Tramway station: 2 x 65m Requirements: 200 lux - U o 25% Previous installation with 58W fluorescent tube: power consumption of 16W/m New installation with Astral LED with 3 reflectors per module (33 350mA): power consumption of 9.7W/m - U o 70% Energy savings: 40% By replacing the old luminaires equipped with 58W fluorescent tubes, the power consumption has been reduced by 40% and the colour rendering index has been improved to 70, enhancing safety and wellbeing in the station. The control system can generate additional savings of 10% by dimming the luminaires when the station is closed (maintenance operations). This high efficiency leads to a short payback time (less than 5 years). The long lifespan of the installation ensures long-term massive savings.
