5 Strategic Areas Sustainable Development of Water Resources Focus: Conservation and Sustainable Use of Water Resources We support projects that focus on solutions that will allow the efficient use of water resources while protecting the ecosystems of our region today and for future generations. Through three main areas of action: Training & Water Centers Watershed Conservation Access to Safe Water and Sanitation

To establish formal or informal training programs which respond to the necessities of the region in the water sector, To establish research programs in subjects related to the use and manage of water in the hemisphere, To create a platform to integrate information from Latin America regarding to water. Areas of Interest Water Supply and Sanitation In Latin America 15% of the population lacks safe water and 51% still uses latrines and septic tanks. Integrated Management of Water Resources Traditionally, the efforts of water resource management are oriented to the sector and consider only one discipline. Water Security and Risk Management Climate change poses threats for water, energy, and food safety through a great diversity in rain events.

Multi-stakeholder, multi-regional, cross-sectoral, comprehensive and harmonized global water stewardship system. Parterships The Alliance aims to establish a global water certification business that will recognize and reward responsible water managers and users by creating opportunities for enhanced community standing and competitive advantage.
