4 Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant - USA Largest biological aerated filter system in North America treating 12,870 m 3 /h of wastewater. Effluent is fully nitrified with ammonia levels of less than 1.0 mg/l complying with sustainability initiatives for discharge into the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Marine Harvest - Norway Implementation of a recirculating aquaculture system to process recycling water that is environmentally friendly, energy efficient and extremely compact for the nursery and pre-ongrowing portion of a fish farm. East Delta Electricity Production Co - Egypt Thermal desalination process separating saline content by evaporating seawater in a distillation system for a 650 MW power plant. The process reuses the energy generated during vapor condensation, reducing energy consumption required to heat the water. K+S Potash Canada Production of sodium and potassium chloride through the evaporation and crystallization of brine from the solution mining process, with capacity of 2.86 million tons per year of potash by Iberpotash, S.A. - Spain Recovery and purification of high puritysodium and additional potassium chloride from byproduct salts resulting from the production of fertilizer. Designed as a closed-loop system, no liquid waste is generated with the reuse of surplus condensate.

5 We Know Water BIOSTYR biological aerated filtration for tertiary de-nitrification AnoxKaldnes MBBR biofilm process; Hydrotech drumfilters Multiple Effect Distillation (MED) for thermal water desalination HPD evaporation and crystallization technology for potash production Royal Dutch Shell - Australia Holy Haram Expansion - Saudi Arabia Petrobras - Brazil Compact MPPE technology achieving zero discharge of environmentally harmful substances for the world s first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) plant. The process treats the water produced during the production of natural gas. Utilization of recycled treated sewage effluent as make-up water for the world s largest district cooling system in order to reduce the environmental footprint of the Grand Mosque in Makkah. The wastewater recycling plant has capacity of 30,000 m 3 /day. Integrated wastewater treatment plant utilizing recycled treated municipal wastewater for refining activities at Petrobras Comperj petrochemical complex. The system additionally allows for the reuse of 500 m³/h of treated effluents in the cooling circuit at the refinery. Kungsbacka Wastewater Treatment Plant - Sweden A compact biological and chemical wastewater treatment plant for the removal of nitrogen and phosphorous. Crucial to the design is the implementation of technologies with small footprints due to space constraints. Macro Porous Polymer Extraction (MPPE) system for dissolved and dispersed hydrocarbons removal Hydrotech Discfilter for effluent polishing; Hydrex water treatment chemicals Integrated wastewater treatment system for water reuse HYBAS biological treatment; Actiflo chemical treatment for combined sewer overflow
