9 (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) The project is for the mining of Masonary Stone mineral over the lease area of 1.00 Ha near Village-Guralas, Tehsil- Bali & District - Pali (Rajasthan). Identification of project proponent: The applicant is Shri Bhanwar Singh Ranawat and is the owner of the mine. Address: Shri Bhanwar Singh Ranawat S/o Shri Moti Singh Ranawat R/o RES-PO.,Guralas, Tehsil - Bali, Distt. - Pali (Raj.) Brief description of the project: The Simplified Mining Scheme for mineral Masonary stone near village- Guralas, Tehsil- Bali, Dist. - Pali, ML area 1.00hect. Was granted in Favour of Shri Bhanwar Singh Ranawat S/o Shri Moti Singh Ranawat R/o RES-PO.,Guralas, Tehsil - Bali Distt. - Pali (Raj.) Vide order no. - ME/Sojat/Minor/M.L. 139/2008/251 on dated 28/04/2011. The lease deed was executed on dated- 13/05/2011 and was registered on dated- 18/05/2011 for 30 years. (18/05/2011 to 17/05/2041). The Simplified Mining scheme was approved under rule of 37G (2) of R.M.M.C.R & Amendment Vide Letter No. - The copy of the Approved Simplified Mining Scheme is attached as Annexure - 2. Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region: The lease area has been prospected by various Government Departments. Based on the deposits available, the area is granted for mining lease for the extraction of Masonary Stone. Minerals Masonary Stone are of industrial importance. These minerals are essential for Construction projects. Around 20 people will be employed in this mine. It will create employment (though marginally) for local population of the villages both directly and indirectly. Demand-Supply Gap: Masonary Stone demand has been on an upsurge in the region due to the high rise demand in the building and construction projects. Masonary Stone is important mineral and small movements in its demand may produce price fluctuations. The mining industry has witnessed continuous modernization and adoption of new technologies in recent years for the excavation of mineral like Masonary Stone. The proposed project is encountering huge market demand presently. Imports vs Indigenous Production: 9

10 (vi) (vii) (viii) There will be no import for the existing project. Local villagers will be employed. There will be Indigenous production in the entire mining activity. Export Possibility: Not applicable as proposed mine production is for domestic use. Domestic/Export Markets: The excavated mineral will be used and sold in the local market of Bali,Pali, Pindwara, Sirohi, Sheoganj and nearby regions. In domestic market, Masonary Stone is majorly used as a building and construction Meterial. The export market is not envisaged for the proposed project. Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project: A total of 20 persons will be required as direct and indirect employment for the proposed mining activity which will be given to local workers. 3. Project Description: (i) (ii) Type of project including interlinked and interdependent projects, if any: The mining of Masonary Stone will be carried out by open-cast mechanized method. This will be an independent project. No interlinked project is proposed. Location (map showing general location, specific location, and project boundary & project site layout) with coordinates: The lease having area is equal to 1.00 Ha and falls in G.T. Sheet No. 45 G/07. The geographical location with respect to boundary pillars of the mining lease is shown as under Latitude N to N Longitude E to E The key map stating the GT sheet number and coordinates of the lease area is attached as Plate No. 1 and the route map showing the connectivity of the lease area is attached as Plate No. 2. (iii) (iv) Details of alternate sites considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted: This is a mining project which is site specific and cannot be shifted at will. Further, the project is not situated in an environmentally sensitive area. Size or magnitude of operation: The proposed target production in this mining scheme will be of 44,445 TPA (ROM) per annum over the lease area of 1.00 Ha. 10

11 (v) (vi). (vii) Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. should be given): The mining in the lease area is proposed to be carried out by semi-mechanized opencast mining method. The salient features of proposed mining method are:- The height of the bench will be maintained at 3.0m. The width of the bench will be maintained at more than 3m. Considering the stability of rocks the final slope or say ultimate pit slope is proposed from vertical. Transportation of the mineral from mine to end users will be done by hired trucks which will be loaded manually. The excavation of minerals will be done by process of drilling with jack hammer and blasting by using explosives. After the blasting process, the bulk will be loaded as a stack at separate placed with the help of excavator. The sorting of the mineral will be done manually and thereafter would be loaded in tippers/trucks to transport the mineral produced to industries. Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final product/s, Mode of transport of raw Material and Finished Products: No raw materials are required for the production. After the production of minerals Masonary Stone, the sorted/crushed bulk will be dispatched via hired trucks/tippers to various nearby units/industries in Sirohi, Pindwara, Falna, Pali, Bali, Sheoganj and other cities/districts. Resource optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project, if any, should be briefly outlined: Utmost effort will be made to put the excavated material to proper use. Approximate MT of mine waste consisting of overburden and mineral waste will be generated during this mining scheme and will be dumped within the mine lease. The plantation is proposed over an area of 3300 sq. m. inside the mining lease and rest will be done outside the lease area. After complete extraction of minerals up to its 11

12 economic depth, the excavated pit will be used as a pond/reservoir for water which will be used by local people for irrigation purpose. (viii) Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. The continuous supply of water is necessary for the drilling process and sprinkling on haulage road and approach road. The water for drinking purpose is obtained from the nearby villages by taking permission from Panchayat and also from water tankers. Water or Slurry pumps of 5 H.P. are also required to pump the water out during rainy seasons. Water Requirement Chart: Water (2.0 KLD) 0.50 KLD For Drinking purpose & other purposes of human consumption Surface Water 1.50 KLD Or From Nearby villages/tankers 1. Plantation (0.50 KLD) 2. Drilling, sprinkling, etc. (1.00 KLD) (ix) (x) Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their Management/disposal: Approximate MT of mine waste consisting of overburden and mineral waste will be generated during this mining scheme and will be dumped within the out of the lease area. A garland drain of size 1m x 1m is also proposed at the bottom of the dump so as to prevent washout. Schematic representations of Application the feasibility in Form drawing I which give information of EIA purpose: Along with Pre-Feasibility As per the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) notification dated 9 th Sept. 2013, Report to project falls under category 1 (a) B2. The EIA report is not required. Hence direct DEAC, PALI environmental clearance is needed for the project from the DEAC, Pali The baseline studies will be undertaken as per schematic diagram. Submission of baseline data, mitigation measures to control pollution to be sent to each member Presentation before DEAC Grant of Environment Clearance (Yes/No) 12
