Imagine the extra sensitivity of a very low memory ion source that delivers exceptional ion production, a detector system with up to ten long-life Faraday collectors and a high stability head amplifier together providing stable and precise results. Then consider the power of IonVantage software designed for ease of use and speed of sample analysis. Now, add the ability to switch instantly between class-leading inlets capable of multielemental CHNS analysis, headspace gas analysis, compound specific isotope analysis and ultra high precision analysis of carbonates and waters. It s easy to see why the Isoprime series works together like no other, giving you the very best solutions in the field of stable isotope mass spectrometry.

3 ...as no other Dual Inlet Constructed to high specifications, Isoprime s Dual Inlet ensures high precision measurements for small sample sizes, or gases such as SO 2, without memory effects. The Dual Inlet contains two stepper-motor driven high compression ratio bellows and fourteen low dead volume valves. The inter-valve connections are machined from a single block of metal and the complete inlet may be baked to 90 o C. The bellows on the reference side measures 100mL to allow long automated runs and the Dual Inlet design allows for minimum possible dead volume. For the highest precision requirements, Isoprime has a range of Dual Inlet Systems. These enable very small samples to be analysed precisely and accurately. Continuous Flow Whenever you need a Continuous Flow (CF) sample preparation and management system, Isoprime is the ideal choice, with an extensive range of CF inlets incorporating class-leading technologies. 6 Gas & Liquid Chromatography Inlets GC-IRMS Isoprime s GC-IRMS facilitates compound specific isotope analysis for applications such as environmental science, geosciences, food authentication or biomedical sciences. The GC interface and selected options can enable on-line measurement of δ 13 C, δ 15 N, δ 18 O and δd of organic compounds separated by capillary chromatography. The GC-IRMS precisely analyses samples sizes down to 1.0nmol with GC combustion and 20nmol for GC pyrolysis achieved through efficient separation and combusition or pyrolysis, without isotopic fractionation. The Isoprime GC V Interface is designed around Agilent Technologies, Inc., GC separation technology. The standard GC combustion and pyrolysis package comes with an Agilent 7890 gas chromatograph with a split/splitless injector, DB-5 capillary column and flame ionization detector (FID) detector, Isoprime Limited s GC V microbore oxidation/pyrolysis furnace and interface heater. The interface has a maximum temperature of 1500 o C and can be used for both combustion and pyrolysis applications. Water can be removed either by a membrane dryer or a cryogenic trap. Gas flow is regulated throughout the entire interface. Heart-splitting switches eluent between the GC V interface and FID to allow only compounds of interest to be analysed on the IsoPrime. Reference gas is automatically pulsed into the IsoPrime and timings are fully adjustable to optimize placement of the gas pulses for your sample chromatography. Parameters can be saved in the software and recalled when a specific sample or standard type is analysed again to be able to save time and effort in the laboratory. The GC-IRMS package can be fully automated by addition of an autosampler. For compound specific nitrogen isotope analysis the configuration includes a reduction furnace, fixing kit and cryogenic trap for removing CO 2 and H 2 O. Autosampler Split/Splitless injector Programmable temperature vaporiser (PTV) injector On-column injector

7 GC-IRMS continued The standard configuration for δd analysis includes ChromeHD for low temperature analysis of δd (1050 o C). The powerful continuous flow data processing (CFDP) package within IonVantage has numerous methods available for sample peak integration and background correction. Previously analysed samples can be reprocessed whilst another sample is running. LiquiFace The LiquiFace is the Liquid Chromatography (LC) inlet for compound specific isotope analysis for aqueous solvent separations such as sugars, amino acids and organic compounds. A peristaltic pump is used to deliver reagents to the LiquiFace. Eluent from the Ion Chromatograph (IC) mixes with these reagents, is heated and the resultant CO 2 is separated using a gas separation unit and δ 13 C of the separated compound is analysed. The Liquiface can also be used for underivatised samples, not suitable for GC analysis. With Isoprime s Liquid Chromatography you can perform other techniques which until now, have been impossible.
