3 1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Preamble Black Trap is base of all types of Building works, Construction of Road, Construction of Cement Concrete road, The need of Stone in all fields are very essential as it is a compulsory material for all types of construction, and Industries fields. Stone Mines are providing employments to the local Labour in Rural area, as the labour of rural area have no any work for labour, They are Unemployed, Thus this existing mine is providing work to many labours and it is a good employment. 2.0 Executive Summary Makwana Dineshbhai Khimjibhai is an existing mine, as the demand of black stones in all sectors are highly necessary, and this project is providing and fulfil all demands of black stones in complete around area. About hectare of land is under possession of Makwana Dineshbhai Khimjibhai At, Village : Tithava, Taluka : Wankaner, Dist : Morbi. As per the statuary obligation this project needs environmental clearance from department of Environment and forest dept. (GPCB ) Gujarat. For grant of lease and to start quarrying operations (production) Accordingly project proponent has submitted form 1, prefeasibility report and copy of Approval letter from department of mines and geology Gujarat, to the state level environmental assessment authority of Gujarat constituted by MOEF, GOI for issuing environmental clearance, as per EIA, September notification. 3

4 3.0 Introduction of the Project/Background information : 3.1 Name of the existing unit :Makwana Dineshbhai Khimjibhai Registered Office :Makwana Dineshbhai Khimjibhai At & Post : Lajai-1 Ta : Morbi, Dist : Morbi, Location of existing unit : Village : Tithava Govt. Sr. No. 1046/1, Taluka :Wankaner. Dist : Morbi. Name of partners :Makwana Dineshbhai Khimjibhai 3.2 Brief description of nature of the project : It is a Black Stone Quarrying, it contains black stone rubble which is used in building construction and construction of infrastructures and road, railways etc. 3.3 Demand - Supply Gap : As black trap is used as raw material in construction of building and infrastructure projects, the demand of black trap is increasing day by day. In past, demand was not too much but now a days due to rapid industrialization and urbanization its demand increasing with pace of time. At present, demand of black trap is more than the supply. 3.4 Imports vs. Indigenous Production : In Morbi of Gujarat, a number of black trap mines are there. There is abundance of black trap in the area; it had become a major source of economy in the area/region. 4

5 3.5 Export Possibility : N.A. 3.6 Domestic / Export Markets : Black trap produced is used locally as well as circulated in nearby area. So clearly there is a huge market of black trap in the domestic area. 3.7 Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project : By this mining project of black trap in the area, peoples will get employment, The project will directly generate the employment for the local people and indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the product will generate the employment for peoples. By this project, approximately Skilled labours-3 and Unskillled-10 to 15 labours will be on project site. 4.0 Project Description : 4.1 Type of project including interlinked and interdependent project if any : No other project is interlinked with this mining project. 4.2 Location (map showing general location, specific location and project boundary & project site layout) with co-ordinates The area has been marked on Google map including the mining lease location. This comprises the mining lease on Govt. Sr. No. 1046/1 Paiky, near village : Tithava, Taluka : Wankaner, Dist : Morbi of Gujarat location of the mining lease is as under. 5

It is open mining project and production capacity is 5000 MT/Month. 4.5 Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. is given below: Open cast mining Site preparation Fencing OB Removal Drilling and Blasting Stone Breaking by manual Transportation to the end use 7

8 4.6 Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final products. Mode of transport of raw materials And finished products : The estimated quantity is approx MT/Month. Raw material is being purchased from lease holders of black trap. Marketing area is city area of Morbi, Rajkot, and rural area nearby. Mode of transportation is by tractors and dumpers. 4.7 Resource optimization / recycling and reuse envisaged in the project. If any, should be briefly outlined : N.A. 4.8 Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given : Total water requirement in the project is about 3.0 KLD for drinking & domestic use, dust suppression and plantation. Drinking water is brought by water tanker from nearby City : Morbi. Diesel will be used in dumpers and tractors. Nearby City : Wankaner is well electrified and taluka center. 4.9 Quantity of wastes to generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their Management/disposal : N.A Schematic representations of the feasibility drawing which give information of EIA purpose : According to MOEF mining project containing area 5 Ha. are considered in category B 2. Nearest railway station is at Amasar Railway Station (5.45 km) in of mine site. State Highway S.H. No.319 (0.50 km). Nearest highway is a National Highway No. 27 Passes in about (7.16 km). 5.2 Land Form - Land use and land Ownership : The area of lease is Ha. The lease area forms part of Govt. land is involved in leased area. No forest land. Details are given in below table. 9

Nearest highway is a National Highway No. 27 Passes in about (7.16 km). 5.6 Soil classification : Soil of the region falls within Average rain fall zone of mm. The soils are sandy loam, shallow depth reddish-black soils. 5.7 Climatic data from secondary sources : Morbi has a tropical climate. In winter there is much more rainfall in Morbi than in summer. The Köppen-Geiger climate classification is As. The average annual temperature in Morbi is 27 C. About 521 mm of precipitation falls annually. 14
