(C) Potential Theoretical Potential of Hydro power, 83,000 MW (Atleast( Atleast) Commercial Potential of Hydro power, 43,000 MW (Atleast( Atleast) Present Installed Capacity is nearly 1.5% of Total potential. Potential will be very high if it is reservoir

Application for PPA (38) MV

13 Policies Privatization in Petroleum products Trade (LPG is already privately traded ) Mixing of Ethanol (10%) Authorized in 2003 January but yet not Implemented Efforts will be taken for commercial production of bio diesel from Jatropha (Sajiwan or Kadam)

14 Challenge Huge capacity in Hydro electricity, even to fulfill Asian demand but investment? All the year round Sunshine, but Investment? An agricultural country, mainly Animal husbandry, should have one Biogas plant per household, at least 75% out of 4.2 million household but..? Micro hydro power from more than 6000 rivers and rivulets?

15 Challenge: Investment for domestic market. Investment plus market concurrently for export marketing. For export marketing, cost of production and sales price. Super grid and Transmission for export, among countries more than two needs understanding and cooperation, will it be? Will SAARC (Quadrangle/SAFTA) Have any step toward these challenges
