5 Doo the Right Thing! Doo the Right Thing Calendar Photo Contest Why should we pick up after our dogs? Dog waste is a health hazard to pets, kids, and adults, harboring bacteria and parasites. When dog waste is left on the ground, rain or sprinkler runoff can wash it into storm drains and directly into our creeks, rivers, and lakes. Tips for dealing with pet waste Always carry a couple of bags to pick up after your dog on walks. At least once a week, clean up droppings around your yard. Toss bagged waste in the trash. (If it s not bagged, you can flush it down the toilet.) Is your dog our 2017 calendar s cover dog? Bevo, 2016 cover dog. Pledge to Doo the Right Thing and your dog may be featured in the 2017 calendar! To take the pledge and enter your dog s photo in the Doo the Right Thing Calendar Photo Contest, visit Contest ends June 30,
