Solid Wastes: 1.15 Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? Solid waste generated in Project area will be mainly of domestic nature. The 30 kg/day (Construction Phase) and 1.3 Tone/day (Operation phase) of solid wastes generated will be segregated into biodegradable and nonbiodegradable wastes and collected in separate bins. The biodegradable waste will be collected in Green bins and will be disposed nearby municipal bins. n biodegradable (Recyclable) waste will be collected in White bins and sold to Vendors as per Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, Waste from such bins will be collected separately on daily basis. Production of solid wastes during construction or operation or decommissioning (MT/month) / 4.1 Soil, overburden or mine wastes Excavated surplus earth will be refilled to maintain desirable slope in the project premise. The top soil will be used in Green belt because of its high humus content. The municipal solid wastes generated during operation phase will consist of Organic Waste Food Waste, kitchen refuse, flowers, dried leaves, paper, fruits, etc Municipal waste (domestic and or commercial wastes) Hazardous wastes (as per Hazardous Waste Management Rules) Inorganic Waste Plastic, tapes, wrappers, cardboard, packaging material, thermocol, aluminium foils, glass, ceramic, rubber, tins, etc. Solid waste storage locations will be incorporated in the design itself. Adequate independent collection bins for waste will be provided as per Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, The waste will be segregated and collected daily. The approximate quantity of solid wastes generated will be approximately 1.3 Tone/Day. Recyclable waste will be given to recyclers. The biodegradable waste will be disposed off in municipal bins. For minimizing the dust transfer, a 5 m tall peripheral barrier will be provided. At the time of transportation & construction, dust may be generated. Water sprinkling will be carried out in that case, to minimize the dust. Construction Phase: Dust could be generated during construction activity. Water sprinkling will be carried out to minimize dust. During the construction phase, sewage will be disposed in Septic tank and soak pits. Temporary solid waste storage will also be provided at site with covered lids. Operation Phase: Wastewater generated during construction (11 KLD) and operation (236 KLD) phase will be disposed into onsite STP (250 KLD capacity). Treated waste water will be used in flushing and gardening. 12 / 6.1 From operation of equipment e.g. engines, ventilation plant, crushers During construction, the machineries used for construction will be of high quality and efficiency. These quality standards will ensure lesser noise and air emissions. Hence, care will be taken to minimize noise impacts due to construction machinery. Apart from this, the construction activities which are likely to generate noise will be restricted to daytime only. 6.2 From industrial or similar processes t applicable 6.3 From construction or demolition Due to various construction activities, there may be short-term noise impacts in the immediate vicinity of the project site. 6.4 From blasting or piling t applicable 6.5 From construction or operational traffic During the construction phase, noise may be generated due to construction activity but it will be for short term only. Project area is categorized in the seismic zone III, which is classified as having a moderate seismic intensity. The structure design is as per Codes to negate the threat of environmental and other damages. 9. Factors which should be considered (such as consequential development) which could lead to environmental effects or the potential for cumulative impacts with other existing or planned activities in the locality / quantities/ rates, wherever possible) Lead to development of supporting Facilities, ancillary development or development stimulated by the project which could have impact on the environment e.g.: supporting infrastructure (roads, power supply, waste or waste water treatment, etc.) housing development extractive industries supply industries, (other) Lead to after-use of the site, which could have an impact on the environment 9.3 Set a precedent for later developments 9.4 Have cumulative effects due to proximity to other existing or planned projects with similar effects The project site falls within Vapi Nagarpalika, therefore, any further development of infrastructure will not be needed. Negligible increase in traffic and there will be positive impact on socio- economic environment. The project will lead to development of residential Flats and shops, which will improve living standard in locality. As Above PAGE 13
