Presentation Agenda Facility Relocation During Early Stages of the OMP Initial OMP Sustainability Approach Used for Tenant Relocations What Worked and Lessons Learned Revised Relocation Approach and Sustainable Framework 2

South Cargo Area Facility Relocation Runway 10C/28C required the relocation of many existing facilities, to include the FedEx Metroplex Framework: Replacement-in-Kind During Program formulation, OMP Included Allowances for Sustainable Initiatives Negotiations Included an Agreement on an Approach to Meet Sustainable Design 3

4 Facility Locations

FedEx Metroplex Relocation On-airport FedEx facility operates both landside and airside; has four functions: Sorting packages, documents and non-conveyable items 18,000 packages per hour Aircraft and vehicle maintenance Employee / pedestrian handling Administration 5

FedEx Environmental Policy Corporate Environmental Commitment: We remain focused on sourcing environmental solutions that will lessen our footprint, while serving as an example to our peers. 17 OMP Remaining Projects Western Terminal Taxiway ZJ Irving Park Road Relocation 17

18 Facilities to be Relocated

Relocation Approach Going Forward Segregate Current Lease Arrangement with Relocation Maximize Eligibility for Federal Reimbursement (Relocation Act) Align Tenant and OMP Sustainable Initiatives Define the Project to Achieve Greatest Sustainable Benefit 19

Sustainable Design Approach Effectively Communicate and Define the OMP Goals Understand Tenant s Goals and Find Common Ground Maximize Return on Collective Goals Recognize Diverting Interests/Goals Define Compromise Implement the Plan Early (Conceptual Design) 20

Example: Signature Flight Service Station Current FBO within Footprint of Runway 9C/27C Preliminary Discussions on OMP Sustainable Approach and Signarute s Corporate Position Alignment of OMP and Tenant Goals 21

Example: Signature Flight Service Station Relocated FBO FBO Existing FBO FBO Location 22

Example: Signature Flight Service Station Benefit from Signature s Recent LEED Certified Building Experience (BOS) Project Description LEED Certification Achieved 23

Lessons Learned Awareness of Third Party Goals Defining the Boundaries of Compromise Recognize that Reaching an Agreement is not an Easy Process Need to provide / share all related information Facilitation: learning, educating, outreach Discussions early and often Align City s SDM goals with tenant designers 24
