7 Project Purpose Major Updates The purpose of the proposed project is to improve east west mobility within the high desert region of southern California by addressing present and future travel demand and mobility needs within the Antelope & Victor valleys.

8 Major Updates Project Purpose (cont d) The proposed action is intended to achieve the following objectives: Increase capacity of east west transportation facilities to accommodate existing and future transportation demand Improve travel safety and reliability bl within the High Desert region Improve the regional goods movement network Provide improved access and connectivity to regional transportation facilities, including airports and rail Contribute to state greenhouse gas reduction goals through green energy features
