2 Ingestion tes to physician General advice Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water and give large amounts of milk or water, if person is conscious. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If vomiting naturally occurs, keep head low (lean forward) so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs. If ingested, material may be aspirated into the lungs and cause chemical pneumonitis. Treat appropriately. Get imte medical attention. Treat symptomatically. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). 5. Fire Fighting Measures Extinguishing Suitable extinguishing Unsuitable extinguishing Protection of firefighters Specific hazards arising from the chemical Fire fighting equipment/instructions Specific methods Hazardous combustion Extinguish with water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical or material appropriate for the surrounding fire. Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire. Avoid spraying water directly into storage container due to the danger of boilover. By heating and fire, toxic vapors/gases may be formed. Firefighters must use standard protective equipment including flame retardant coat, helmet with face shield, gloves, rubber boots, and in enclosed spaces, SCBA. Use standard firefighting procedures and consider the hazards of other involved materials. 6. Accidental Release Measures Personal precautions Environmental precautions Methods for containment Methods for cleaning up Other information In case of spills, beware of slippery floors and surfaces. Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground. Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers). Collect and dispose of spillage as indicated in Section 13 of the MSDS. Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible material and transfer to containers. Clean up in accordance with all applicable regulations. 7. Handling and Storage Handling Storage Wear protective clothing as described in Section 8 of this safety data sheet. Eating, drinking, and smoking should be prohibited in areas where this material is handled, stored, and processed. Wash before eating, drinking and/or smoking. Do not breathe mist or vapor. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Do not ingest. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. "Empty" containers retain product residue (liquid or vapor) and can be dangerous. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Store in original tightly closed container. Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. 8. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection Occupational exposure limits Engineering controls Personal protective equipment Eye / face protection Skin protection Respiratory protection General hygiene considerations exposure limits noted for ingredient(s). General ventilation is normally adequate. Wear approved safety glasses or goggles. Wear appropriate clothing to prevent repeated or prolonged skin contact. Wear protective gloves.
