5 COMPANY PROFILE Research development, designing, engineering and engineering service supply for thermopower equipment and environment pollution control equipment concerning new steam and hot water generating plants or the existing ones to be later retrofitted, based on fossil or residual solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. Research development, designing, engineering and engineering service supplies for the auxiliaries associated with steam and hot water generators, such as: firing equipment, combustion air preheating equipment, heat exchanger surface sootblowing equipment, highstrengthsteel structures. Inspections, expert s appraisals, diagnostic routines concerning the technical condition of thermopower equipment, consulting services and making-out of in situ repair engineering, non-destructive examinations, strain (stress) gauge measurements, and the connected technical assistance included. Optimization of thermodynamic processes, including the performance of thermal balances, measurements and certifications of operational parameters for the new installations, the existent and the retrofitted ones. Software and computing systems addressed to the on-line monitoring of thermodynamic processes, including the associated automation documentations. 6 SERVICES We provide the following: 1. Designs and documentations for new plants or for the retrofitting of the existing ones to generate steam and hot water, fuel conversions inclusively. We have acquired the relevant experience to implement such cooperation jobs based on Basic Designs from our Customers and pursuant to the requirements stipulated by the proven Codes of Technical Safety / Reliability: ISCIR, ASME, TRD, AD-Merkblätter, BSI, AFNOR, RNR, NFPA etc. 2. Designs and documentations for all generator auxiliaries, in the same conditions as specified hereinbefore, and for the steel supporting structures as well. 3. Detail Engineering works and services purposely tailored for rehabilitations: estimates, technical checks, technical inspections, expert s appraisals for the technical condition of steam / hot water / warm water generators or of their related subassemblies, and for their steel supporting structures inclusively; designs and documentations referring to the new, low NOx emissions, firing equipment to be installed on the generators; strain-gauge measurements and non-destructive examinations; in site repair engineering, consulting services and technical assistance. 4. Optimization of thermodynamic processes, performance of thermal balances, complex measurements and certifications of parameters both for the new installations and for those subject to rehabilitation. 5. Software and computing systems addressed to the on-line monitoring of thermodynamic processes specific to generators, as well as the associated automation documentations. 6. Consulting services and technical assistance on tendering and on bidding. Feasibility studies, basic designs and detail engineering projects for low-power and medium power thermal plants, for thermal stations and networks (to town users, industrial and agrarian consumers) and for their related utility facilities: fuel handling plants, compressed air stations, ventilation plants, pneumatic transport plants, electric dedusting installations etc. Technical assistance on manufacturing and on erection, as well as for the implementation of the requirements of the Quality Assurance System pursuant to SR EN ISO 9000 series standards, and for commissioning, too. 6

7 INSPECTION OF BOILERS 1. INSPECTION OF BOILER PRESSURE PARTS Visual inspection / furnace, convection pass, superheater, economizer, economizer baffle wall (identification and location of corrosion, deformation, erosion, swelling, misalignment, dislocation on coils). The boiler will be visualy inspected imediatelly after the shut down and samples will be prelevated for the deposit analysis. Metrological inspection / thickness measurement of tubes carried out using UT thickness detector (selection of necessary areas, identification and marking of measurement areas, tube preparation, measurement recording, etc).the inspection will be made with the Inspectors equipments and according to the Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations and according to the effective standards. Selection of the samples, location, recording, samples cutting, protection during manipulation and marking about 3 samples for each heat exchanging surface. Dimensional measurements, surface inspection, chemical analysis, metallographic analysis, tensile tests at room temperature and high temperatures, hardness tests, technological tests (smoothing, enlargement on mandrel), assessment of remained life time on sampled tubes. These operations will be executed in ICEMERG SA Laboratories according to their procedures, approved by the certifiedd organizations and according to the effective standards, on up to date metrological verified equipments. Inspection of headers (visual inspection, ovality determination, deflection, hardness measurements, wall thickness measurements, ultrasonic tests as applicable to specific areas) For the connecting piping (visual inspection, DP/MP and UT for elbows on 2/3 of surface, including stretched and neutral fibers, and welding joints, dimensional measurements and hardness tests) Inspection of the refractory work (burner, peep holes, man doors, soot blower openings, curve pipes), external mechanical condition) Inspection of other man holes and peep holes site glass condition. Inspection of the burner system (gas & oil) including the firing system of burners (gas lances, deflector, gas filter, burner nozzle, valves). Inspection of the soot blowing system (feed and lance tube, sealing box, valves) Inspection of insulation & cladding in pressure part areas and inside dead space Inspection of main structural supports and access ways Final inspection of whole pressure part after maintenance according to the preliminary report Reports writing, data compilation and interpretation of results, final technical report. The report will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations and according to the effective standards, using the examination results and also the documents, drawings and other information, received at the begining of the works from the client, regarding the investigated subassemblies. 2. INSPECTION OF BOILER DRUM Visual inspection of inner and outer surfaces of the Drum will be performed by the Inspectors immediately after the shut down. The client will assure the removal of the drum external insulation (including the nozzle area) and the internal installation. Deposit sampling immediately after the drum shut down and chemical testing 100% DP/ MP testing of circumferential and longitudinal drum welds and nozzle areas. The inspection will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations and according to the effective standards. 7

8 Visual / dye penetrant testing of drum internals (separator & driers). The inspection will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations and according to the effective standards. Pipe inspection for deformation, corrosion, pitting and eventually wall thickness ultrasonic measurements 100% UT of circumferential and longitudinal drum welds and nozzle areas UT wall thickness measurements on drum surface. The inspection will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations, and according to the effective standards. Inspection / testing of all connected parts, transmitter & blow down lines Inspection of man hole and fasteners Final inspection of the drum for the cleaning and proper fastening of the internals The Drum verification calculation for the lowest measured wall thickness values will be made by the Inspectors using the examination results and also the documents, drawings and other information, received at the begining of the works from the client regarding the investigated subassembly. Report writing, data compilation and interpretation of results, final technical report The report will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations, and according to the effective standards using the examination results and also the documents, drawings and other information, received at the begining of the works from the client regarding the investigated subassemblies. 3. INSPECTION OF TANKS (DEAERATOR, FEED WATER TANK, CBD TANK, BLOW DOWN FLUSH TANK, RFT TANK, ETC). Visual inspection of tanks surfaces (internal and external) and their welds (inside and outside) for visible defects after shut down Chemical testing of deposit samples. The sample will be taken by the Inspectors and tested. 100% DP/ MP testing of circumferential and longitudinal welds and nozzle welds of the tanks Visual / dye penetrant testing of the tank internals (spray nozzles, baffles, piping) UT of circumferential and longitudinal welds (in case of under pressure tanks) UT wall thickness measurements on whole tanks length, including their bottoms (in case of under pressure tanks). The inspection will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations, and according to the effective standards. The client will assure the secure access to the required areas and prepare the surface for examination (grinding at metallic brightness in indicated areas). Report writing, data compilation and interpretation of results, final technical report. The report will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified. INSPECTION OF BOILER ASSOCIATED PIPING (FEED WATER, MAIN STEAM, FUEL) Visual inspection of pipe lines for external mechanical condition, coating condition in case of fuel piping, insulation & cladding condition Selection of areas for controls, examinations and testing of piping. The selection will be made by the Inspectors after exact localization of the areas and categories of investigations, as follows: Feed water line 10% MP and UT of the welds and wall thickness measurements in nodal points 8

9 Main steam line o MP, UT control, metallographic replicas, wall thickness with USg, diameter measurements on 30% of elbows all T-shapes, reductions and fittings and their related welds. (Metallographic replicas will be executed only on stretched fiber of the elbows and in the curved areas of the T parts) o Sampling of a main steam pipe section for establishment through destructive o analyses and tests, including long time tests (creep), of material condition and remained life time. o The cutting of tubes samples will be made at the Inspector s indication after determination and localization of the area. o Supports inspection to determine their status and deformations. o Fittings and accessories inspection. Fuel line dimensional measurements (UT and diameters) on 10% from line sections. The inspection will be made according to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations, and according to the effective standards. Visual or dye penetrant testing of associated expansion joints for cracking or mechanical damage. Report writing, data compilation and interpretation of results, final technical report. The report will be made conform to Inspector s Procedures, approved by the certified organizations, and according to the effective standards, using the examination results and also the documents, drawings and other information, received at the begining of the works from the client regarding the investigated subassemblies. 5. INSPECTION OF AIR, FLUE GAS DUCT & STACK Visual inspection of air and flue gas piping for corrosion, erosion, pitting, deformation, paint damage DP testing and UT wall thickness measurements in areas with corrosion, erosion, etc in order to evaluate pipe condition Visual inspection of stiffeners for corrosion, erosion, deformation Visual inspection of such damper components as blades, shaft links for corrosion, erosion. inspection of the damper after maintenance for free movement and sealing Visual inspection of expansion below for corrosion, erosion, deformation Stack floor & wall for crack damage and concrete erosion & reinforcement condition Control of air preheater (sealings, labyrinths) Visual inspection of valves (flap, external aspect, base) 6. 10 ACTIVITIES STEAM BOILERS Repairs or manufacturing of new assemblies and subassemblies for: - economizers; - superheaters; - vaporizers (excluding those with diaphragm wall); - parts and subassemblies for support and dilatation system; - parts and subassemblies for support system for pressure part (studs, supports, beams, other metal parts foir boilers). Noise dampers for steam exhaust. Cannular air pre-heaters, elements (honeycombs) for rotary air pre-heaters; Repairs and manufacturing of subassemblies and parts for burners; Reconditioning and manufacturing of reinforcements and boilers valves; Other spare parts. BOILER FEED SYSTEMS AND BOILER AUXILIARIES Repairs, including execution of new parts and subassemblies from the coal feeding equipment, including the reduction systems speed controller; Reconditioning and manufacturing of new parts for coal mills including actuating by hydraulic couplings, mechanical couplings, reduction gears, etc. Wear parts for coal mills, grinding mills (protectionbandages, hammers, crushing plates, etc.); Repairs, including manufacturing of new parts and subassemblies from the feed water machining equipment afferent to boilers and ancillary equipment from power plants; Reconditioning and manufacturing of new parts for sub-assemblies from feed equipment with fuel oil or gas for boilers, firing systems and ventilation; Reconditioning and manufacturing of new parts for air, exhaust gases and recirculating fans, modernization of the erection solutions; Reconditioning and manufacturing of new parts for actuating from filtering equipment, other environmental protection and de-polluting elements ; Post-firing grates elements, soot blowers, etc.; Other spare parts. 10
