Premium media substrates are enhanced with Donaldson s Spider-Web nano-fiber layer. This dense layer of resilient uniform submicron fibers captures dust particles on the surface of the filter media. Spider-Web media is ideal for self-cleaning as particles captured on the surface are very effectively released during a pulse cleaning cycle. Superior operational filtration efficiency results. Commodity filters allow significantly more contaminants to penetrate the filter media and increase in restriction much more rapidly than Spider-Web. 4 Engineered for Power As dust loads on the surface of the, the filtration efficiency increases rapidly while the restriction rises slowly. Most filters on the market today perform less effectively as their efficiency rises slowly and restriction rises rapidly. 5 Why Low P is Important Generally accepted industry guidelines suggest that for each 4 wg of inlet restriction, a power plant can experience a loss in turbine output power of somewhere between 1% and 1.4%. Based on this guideline, if a base load system (running at about 8000 hours per year) experiences an incremental pressure drop of 1 wg, that pressure drop would translate into a loss of output of 0.25%.
