The first refers to an agreement with RHI for a 1 MW ORC m to produce electricity recovering heat from a calcining furnace at the Radenthein sintered magnesite production plant in Austria. RHI is the world leading supplier of heat-resistant refractory products for the cement, lime, glass, non-ferrous, energy, environment and process industries throughout the world. The start up is expected for the first half of The second refers to the important agreement for a proces recovery ORC plant of about 2 MW signed in August The client is Ciments du Maroc, a company belonging to ITALCEMENTI Group through Ciments Français. The ORC will recover heat from exhaust the clinker furnace at the new production plant in Ait Baha, Morocco. The plant start up is expected for th second half of The use of ORC technology for recovering waste heat represents one of the most attractive applications of Turboden modules. Potential clients include process industries such as cement glass, steel and non ferrous industries. Turbogenerators used for heat recovery applications have a pow range of 500 kwel to 5 MWel. Heat recovery application from industrial process, as well as from gas tur and reciprocating engines, have a great potential especially in the current energy and fuel costs scenari 06/08/ Advantages of Turboden ORC technology applied to the pellet industries Turboden has installed 10 ORC plants in the pellet sector all over Europe. At the 16th European Biomas Conference & Exhibition (Valencia, 2-6 June 2008), Turboden presented a paper detailing the market opportunities for installing Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants based on ORC technology to the pe industry. The market opportunities focus on the use of ORC technology to supply the heat needed for dr sawdust to produce pellet. The article presents, among other things, the results of an economic feasibilit study, comparing CHP plants (ORC units of different sizes coupled with a belt dryer) and traditional hea plants (based on belt and rotary dryers) and their suitability to the pellet production process. The article demonstrates that the installation of cogeneration biomass units, based on thermal oil boilers and Turbo ORC units, coupled with indirect belt dryers as heat suppliers for pellets plants, is an economically viabl indeed preferable option for the pellet industry. These conclusions are based on the evidence that: pla ranging from 4 t/h pellet production capacity (about 900 kwel from ORC) guarantee a good economic re with an electric energy value of greater than 0.16 /kwh; plants ranging from 8 t/h pellet production capa (about 1600 kwel from ORC) guarantee profitability for covering the consumption of the pellet-making p with an electric energy value of /kwh. Because additional revenues can be gained from the generation of electrical energy, installing an ORC-based CHP solution within a pellet production plant ca reduce the risk connected with increased biomass costs, and means that profit can be generated more e than using a heat-only solution, even taking into account higher fuel costs. Finally the paper presents a experience of the 1 MWel Turboden ORC unit installed in Mudau pellet plant (Germany), in operation si October /07/ Soultz-sous-Forêts (France): opening of the Hot Dry Rock geothermal power plant

2 Sida 2 av 6 On the 13th of June 2008, the French Prime Minister François Fillon and the Energy Minister Jean-Louis Borloo attended the opening of the Turboden geothermal plant based in Soultz-sous-Forêt (Alsace). Thi using the Hot Dry Rock technology, allows to produce electricity exploiting the heat stored in the rocks lo at 5,000 meters beneath the earth. The electric power output is around 1.5 MW and the water, injected u pressure, reaches deep impermeable rocks fractured by the drilling where it is heated at 180. This is th Engineered Geothermal System plant in Europe and it was carried out by Turboden together with the co Cryostar (Linde Group). The project was commissioned by E.E.I.G., a European Economic Interest Gro composed by Electricité de France, Electricité de Strasbourg and the German companies Pfalzwerke, E and SteagSaar Energie. 15/07/ Turboden wins the UFO22 European Championship The sail in Turboden logo is a sign of the sport activity practiced by many people of Turboden. In fact Turboden is also the name of the sailboat sponsored by the company which competes in various Europ regattas. Between June 13th-15th Turboden, sailed by Roberto Bini and Paolo Bertuzzi, classified first in UFO22 European Sailing Championship held in Domaso on Como Lake. It was a challenging champion characterized by strong windy days and variable weather conditions, where Turboden won two races an reached various podium placings. Local newspapers and the Italian Sailing Journal Fare Vela publishe news of this Turboden sport success. 21/05/ MIROM Roeselare (Belgium): start up of a new ORC in waste to energy plant On April 2008 the ORC unit of Roeselare was put into operation timely. This unit recovers heat from a municipal solid waste incinerator plant of the company Mirom Roeselare. The incinerator, in place since feeds the district heating network of the two towns of Roeselare and Menen. The ORC plant produces u 3MW from a stream of pressurised water at 180/140 C (in/out), allowing a full valorisation of the therma of the incinerator. Both Belgium and France have many incinerators used for heat production only, the u Turboden ORC could allow to add the electricity generation in these sites. The technology used in this u somehow similar to the one of the ORC geothermal applications. The plant official opening is foreseen b October /10/ Turboden has new headquarters and new telephone numbers On 15 October 2007 Turboden moves to new headquarters at Via Cernaia 10, in Brescia. In our modern technologically advanced building there is an area of m2 for production, assembly and experimen of ORC plants. The offices take up m2 and host 60 qualified Turboden employees. On the building PV solar panels are installed and cover a surface of 400 m2. The Research & Development team works the beginning of 2007 in a new office at Via Carpaccio 8 in Milan. Check our new addresses and telephone numbers. 23/08/ T2000-CHP On the 12th June 2007 the first standard T2000-CHP "split" unit installed by the company Gregor Ziegle Plössberg (Germany) was put into operation becoming the largest biomass fed ORC unit in operation in Europe. The unit reached and largely exceeded the nominal performance on the second day of operatio unit has a nominal power of 2 MW electric and 9.8 MW thermal which are used in a belt dryer for drying sawdust. The dried sawdust is used in a pellet plant. This unit is the second plant purchased by Gregor after the positive experience of the T1100 plant in operation since January 2004 at the same site. The p

Turboden was chosen due to its 25-year-lo experience, the great number of references, its efficiency and durability. These Turboden Turbogenerato with the innovative Split System will start next year and will provide more than 1,7 MWel (at nominal loa each. The discharged thermal power will feed wood drying chambers. These units are the 21^st. and 22 sold in Germany, the 18^th. and 19^th. Turboden turbogenerator sold to a wood industry company. For information about Turboden plants have a look in the download section of the homepage. Further inform about ANTE HOLZ is available under /03/ Turboden contributes to TCVVV (Tirano utility company) 2005 positive economic results TCVVV Spa (CHP and district heating of Valtellina, Valchiavenna Valcamonica) published the company balance sheet for the 2005 fiscal year on the 30th September 2005 with a turnover of and a profit of after taxes. This is a new example that also in Italy- a renewable biomass CHP generation can be very successful for the economy and for the environment. The management review (the Italian version can be download the link below), shows that the ORC cogeneration unit supplied by Turboden, in its second operating yea contributed to the gross earnings of the TCVVV with more than (electricity production: 500. Green Certificates: ). The Turboden plant produced a total of kwh (electric), with an overall daily average of kwh (1.025 kwh/hour). The plant made also possible the reduction of CO2 emissions for a total amount of around tons (estimated value at 2005). TCVVV Spa (Teleriscaldamento Cogenerazione Valtellina Valchiavenna Valcamonica) is a public utility owns two cogeneration plants (total power installed of 30 MW thermal and 1.1 MW electric) and a distric heating network (44.7 km) where the energy source used is 100 % woody biomass. The cogeneration unit, operating in Tirano (SO) since July 2003, includes a thermal oil boiler of around (thermal) and a Turboden ORC unit T1100-CHP of kwel. From the startup, the ORC unit has ach

4 Sida 4 av 6 an availability exceeding 98 %. The plant also includes two traditional water boilers and feeds a district h network of 28,3 km for total volume heated of m3 and a total heat output of MWh (the Turboden, also in its role of small shareholder of TCVVV, is confident of TCVVV continuing success and that other companies will follow this example (electrical power plant sizes driven by the district heating th demand, CHP logic) and avoid the problems that may occur on the contrary in CHP plants with oversize steam systems where a large portion of the heat produced must be dissipated. In these cases the econo is very sensitive to the biomass price, and even a small increase of this cost may dramatically affect the economic sustainability of these plants. 01/02/ : An excellent year for Turboden srl In 2005 the growth of Turboden has continued with excellent results concerning both new installations completed and sales. In the past year 20 plants have been put into operation with a total capacity of over 20 MW. Among this first ORC plant in Czech Republik ( Throvè Swiny ; 600 kwel) and the first plant in the wood panel indus (MDF Hallein; 1500 kwel). An other important achievement is the satisfactory completion of the Plant in Leoben where three T1500 unit are installed for a total capacity of 4500 kwel on the same site. The pro has been completed before schedule and with performance exceeding the contractual values to the full satisfaction of the customer. At the end of 2005 the number of plants in operation reached 35 units in fiv different European countries. Also, the sales have continued on a very satisfactory level with 11 new pla under construction. Among these the first ORC plant in Holland ( Sittard ; 1100 kwel) allowed to open a market concerning also the type of burned Biomass that will be a mixture of integral green waste and wo residues. For more detailed information please check the updated reference lists on our download page. 25/06/ Turboden achieves successful startup of 5 plants and orders for 10 new plants during first seme 2004 The first semester 2004 has been very successful for Turboden with 5 new plants put in operation in the months of the year. In January as scheduled the 3 German plants located in Plössberg (T1100-CHP), Neckarsulm (T1100-CHP) and Sauerlach (T500-CHP) went into operation. The fourth and fifth plant are T1100-CHP units installed at Thal Aue and Wien (Austria) that went into operation during May During the same period, as a result of the high efficiency and low operational costs of the ORC technolo of the high quality and reliability demonstrated by the realized units, orders for 10 new plants with a ove installed power over 10 MWel were reached. The biggest order was for 3 T1500 -CHP units in parallel to installed in the same sawmill in Leoben (Austria). These units are fed by three biomass boilers and prod green electricity and hot water for the drying chambers of the sawmill As a result 12 Turboden ORC units for Biomass cogeneration are now installed in Europe, while other 1 plants are under construction with scheduled start up within first semester 2005.

5 Sida 5 av 6 21/01/ The T1100 CHP unit installed at Plößberg is in operation On the 8th of January 2004 the T1000 CHP unit installed in Plößberg Germany went into operation becoming the largest Biomass fed ORC unit in operation in Germany. The unit reached and largely exc the nominal performance on the second day of operation. This unit is particularly interesting because the heat available downstream the unit (temperature level 90 used for the drying of sawdust and successive production of wood pellets. This is the first plant demonst the combined production of wood pellets and green electricity through an ORC unit. This innovative plant concept represents an ideal solution for the efficient use of residual wood from saw and wood manufacturing plants. In particular the automatic and unattended operation of the plant and th moderate size compatible with the needs of many typical wood manufacturing plants are already attract great interest in many European countries. 03/12/ The T1500 CHP unit installed at Dobbiaco (Toblach) is in operation End of last week the first standard T1500 CHP unit installed in Dobbiaco (Toblach) Italy went into ope becoming the largest Biomass fed ORC unit in operation in Europe. The unit reached and largely excee the nominal performance on the second day of operation. With this achievement all standard Turboden modules, with the exception of the new T800 unit still unde development, show a successfully operating reference plant. All of our ORC modules installed since 199 the biomass cogeneration sector have demonstrated high reliability and low operation and maintenance According to the conservative engineering and commercial approach of Turboden, all these units have exceeded the contractual performance data to the full satisfaction of our customers. 26/09/ New Turboden web-site We are glad to welcome you on the new Turboden web -site. In the past years Turboden has succeeded in establishing ORC units coupled to thermal oil boilers as s the art in small scale Biomass cogeneration ( kwel), thanks to the very good reliability and performance demonstrated by the first industrial scale demonstration plants in Switzerland (1997) and in Austria (1999). Today ORC systems manufactured by Turboden are recognized as a reliable and competitive option for scale Biomass cogeneration and are experiencing a growing market success (6 standard units already s 2003 ). At the moment a total of 8 units are in successful operation in Europe, while additional 8 units ar under construction. The same technology used for the Biomass systems (CHP range) was used to develop a standard rang aimed specifically at heat recovery from gas motors, gas turbines and industrial processes (HR ranges) Further applications of the Turboden technology for ORC modules are solar thermal power generation a geothermal energy power generation where Turboden has gained significative experience since the late Eighties. In the site, you can always find updated technical information on our standard ranges and units, both in products and download sections.
