RO, NF Membrane UF, MF Membrane What is a Membrane? Two classes of membranes: Porous (UF, MF) Non-porous (RO, NF) Non-porous membranes typically comprise a thin film on a support Cross-Section Top Surface Composite Membrane Cross-section Non-porous film ~ 50 10,000 nm Porous layer ~ mm Fabric

Membrane The larget selection of Water & non-water (Process) membranes. Automated high-speed casting & coating machines are dedicated to high volume membranes.

Membrane Manufacturing Membrane Casting Flat Sheet to be Rolled into an Element

Spiral Wound Elements Fully automated rolling machine in USA. Semi automated robatic rolling operation in Hungary. Semi automated plotter glue applicator in China. Fully manual rolling operation in India.

AutoWinder Elements The active membrane area is optimized and consistent thanks to the automation of: glue flow rate glue viscosity positioning Active area up to 440 sqft w/ tolerance of +/- 4%

Semi-Automated Production Automation is also key in our Asian & European productions. The Glue Robot allows precise positioning and controlled thickness of the glue lines.

Wet / Dried vs. Drip/Dried Wet All HR elements are Wet. The elements are bagged after preservation and the bag is sealed. Wet preserved membrane typically stabilizes faster. Dried After the preservation, the elements go in a dryer to remove the excess water. They are placed in open bags. Dried elements can be stored longer (12 months). Drip/dried Product packaged wet New high strength bags Incorporate O 2 scavenger Warranted for 12 months but tested for 18-month shelf life).

Fact Sheet Purtrex* Plus Depth Cartridge Filters Typical Applications Potable water filtration Chemical filtration - wide chemical compatibility Beverage Electronics Meets FDA compliance for food and beverage contact General Properties Figure 1 : Purtrex Plus Depth Cartridge Filters Use Z.Plex* Filter Technology Description and Use The Purtrex Plus depth filter, is an exceptional value for general applications where long life, high purity and low change-out frequency are required. Produced through GE Water & Process Technologies patented Z.Plex* filter manufacturing technology (Figure 1), Purtrex Plus is a 100% pure polypropylene depth filter with excellent performance. Purtrex Plus 3-dimensional filter matrix provides lower pressure drop and high dirt holding capacity. This translates to longer life and fewer change-outs than existing string-wound or resin-bonded filters. Purtrex Plus melt-bonded exterior and core ensures no media migration. Purtrex Plus contains no wetting agents, solvents, antistatic agents or binders, and meets the requirements of the FDA for food and beverage contact. The filter incinerates to trace ash for easy disposal. Purtrex Plus filters are available the following absolute pore size micron ratings: 1, 3, 5 and 10 microns.
