1 1 ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE Multidisciplinary Concentration Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences The environmental science major is an extended major (no minor required) designed with a designated core and six concentration options that students may choose depending on their area of interest. The multidisciplinary concentration provides the student with a broad-based environmental science background, whereas the concentrations in water quality, environmental chemistry, ecological restoration, and environmental geology are more specialized. The environmental science option for secondary science teacher licensure is the remaining concentration available to students. This concentration prepares students in environmental science and in addition includes education classes that qualify students for secondary teaching science licensure. Interested students should go to the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences (SI 2028) to be directed to the appropriate advisor if they have questions on classes, concentrations, and career opportunities. In addition, students in the teacher licensure program should contact an advisor in the teacher education department for their education classes.
