Alter NRG / Westinghouse Plasma: Plasma Gasification for Generating Syngas to GTL A Global Solution and Opportunity for Waste Challenges Syngas Technologies Conference October 15 18, 2017

SYNGAS A FUNDAMENTAL BUILDING BLOCK As you heard from my colleague at RES, syngas to power in most markets is not a best use in renewable value chain due to: Low wholesale prices produced by low cost coal and natural gas Increasing wind and solar capacity Gas to Liquids however, represent great promise and significant value. These include: Ethanol, jet fuel, diesel and DME as their pricing baseline is significantly higher in global markets As a consequence, syngas from waste sources represents a unique, potential arbitrage opportunity vs. other fuel products. This is the fundamental approach of Alter NRG today Opportunities exist today and our view is that as syngas quality, syngas cleanup and conversion efficiencies improve, the market will accelerate exponentially An added plus the microbial conversion technologies using bioreactors for conversion to fuels 2

SUNSHINE KAIDI GROUP OF COMPANIES $6 billion USD Company 11 China subsidiaries and 4 US subsidiaries Kaidi builds, owns and operates power facilities Currently permitted to build MW in China Proven EPC capabilities Proven expertise in Hydro, Wind and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) generation Owns key technologies Owns land for Biomass Production Development of BTL Projects President Xi Jinping visited Kaidi Biofuel Facilities in

ALTER NRG TECHNOLOGY OFFERS A SOLUTION TO DIVERT WASTE FROM LANDFILLS (ALTER NRG AND WESTINGHOUSE PLASMA ARE OWNED BY SUNSHINE KAIDI) Alter NRG develops projects utilizing its plasma gasification technology Alter NRG solutions divert waste that is landfilled Over 30+ years of development $2 billion invested in projects and technology 13+ years of proven commercial operation Processes a variety of feedstocks to create syngas 4

UPDATE: TEES VALLEY FACILITIES AND REORGANIZATION OF AIR PRODUCTS Why did they exit the business? The EFW business was part of a corporate wide Air Products reorganization in late 2015 to create better focus for its core business industrial gases. Air Products has now sold off 2 other non core business units The only remaining non core business for Air Products is EFW The facility is currently idle and for sale; Air Products publicly announced in August 2017 that they do not have a buyer The Air Products plant was designed to process 2000 tonnes/day of refuse derived fuel (RDF) in two trains (each train having a capacity of 1000 tonnes/day) Alter NRG delivered two G65 gasifiers complete with control modules (one G65 gasifier for each train) Tees Valley 1 has been completed Tees Valley 2 is approximately 75% complete Tees Valley 1 commissioned and has undergone several start up and trial runs Start ups deficiencies were identified and corrective actions were put in place None of identified deficiencies are critical flaws with plasma gasification technology 6

THAILAND: WASTE TO POWER FACILITY (2017) Update: Project has obtained a permit and a technology license 600 tpd of MSW to create 20 MW power This is the 1 st large scale MSW to power facility in SE Asia Project has completed all preliminary engineering and is in final design and financing stage Targeted to begin construction in Q Highlights: Government of Thailand s (PDP 2015) encouraged the development of renewable energy Has set aggressive renewable energy targets (from MSW, biomass, etc.) Mechanism in place for the Feed in Tariff (FIT) program with competitive rates and incentives as of January

GLOBAL WASTE CONTINUES TO BE A CHALLENGE Landfills causes: Greenhouse gas emissions Unnecessary land occupation Effects health and wellbeing Water contamination through leaching Clean up issues for future generations BIOMASS 100 BN Tonnes/year MSW 1.3 BN Tonnes/year HAZARDOUS 400 MM Tonnes/year TIRES 10 MM Tonnes/year 8
