2 Introduction Heber Light & Power is a Utah Energy Services Interlocal and provides electric service to nearly 9,000 customers in the beautiful Heber Valley. Created in 1909 by the communities of Heber City, Midway City and Charleston Town. Heber Light & Power owns and operates two hydroelectric generators and three gas/diesel generating plants with an overall generating capacity of 18 megawatts. This summer the valley's electric usage peaked at 28 megawatts.

11 Heber Light & Power s Environmental Commitment Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL s) CFL s in Buildings Office lighting converted to CFL resulting in a savings of 8,900 kwh s annually If every American home replaced their 5 most frequently used light fixtures or the bulbs in them with ones that have earned the ENERGY STAR, we would save close to $8 billion each year in energy costs, and together we would prevent the greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions from nearly 10 million cars. Disposal of CFL s (IKEA)

12 Heber Light & Power Challenges Growth is major factor: Annual growth >15% Current Residential and Commercial development will add 30% to current load Current Planned Subdivisions if built-out, will triple the customer base
