Total land is in possession of the management. The present land use is industrial. Hence there will not be any change in local land use plan due to the proposed activity. The land earmarked for the present proposal is more or less flat without many undulations, without any buildings and vegetation. Hence no clearance of buildings and vegetation will be required for proposed project. 1.3 Creation of new land uses? There is no creation of new land use, as the proposed plant will be installed within existing plant premises. The land use is industrial. 1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? separate Pre-construction investigations are required as the proposed project will be carried out within existing plant premises. 1.5 Construction works? construction work related to proposed project activities will be taken-up without obtaining the prior amendment in Environmental clearance from Ministry of Environment and Forest, GoI, New Delhi & amendment in Permission to Establish from Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board. 1.6 Demolition works? Demolition works will be involved in the proposed project. 3

The construction workers will be engaged from the local areas only. Hence no temporary sites will be required for housing at the site. Most of the structures in the plant will be above the ground. All the materials, Finished Goods, Wastes are stored under covered sheds having RCC flooring guarded by Garland Drains Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? Waste Water: The waste water from coal washery will be completely recycled either in process or for dust suppression within plant premises. There will not be any waste water discharge outside the premises. In the existing plant zero discharge is being maintained and after proposed change in technology also Zero discharge will be maintained. 8 . / 2.2 Water (expected source & competing users) unit: KLD purpose. Total water requirement for 2.4 MTPA (Dry washery) & 1.2 MTPA (Wet process) for which EC has been accorded is 585 cum/day. After conversion of 2.4 MTPA DRY type coal washery to 2.4 MTPA WET type coal washery, an additional water of 500 cum/day will be required. The total water requirement after proposed amendment will be 1085 cum/day only. Water permission has already been obtained from CGWA for drawl of 610 cum/day of ground water. The source of water for the present proposal will be Hindadih Check Dam / Lilagarh river. 2.3 Minerals (MT) Raw Coal 3.6 MTPA 2.4 Construction material stone, aggregates, sand / soil (expected source MT) All the construction materials are made locally available. 2.5 Forests and timber (source MT) t Applicable 2.6 Energy including electricity and fuels (source, competing users) Unit: fuel (MT), energy (MW) 2.7 Any other natural resources (use appropriate standard units) There is no requirement of any type of fuel for the operation of proposed unit; however Power required for operation of shall be drawn from CSEB Grid. t applicable. 3. The effluent will be completely recycled. Zero effluent discharge will be maintained. All environmental regulations will be followed in the proposed project. Hence no Water borne diseases are anticipated due to the proposed project. The Population in surrounding area will get benefited due to infrastructural and community development activities. 3.4 Vulnerable groups of people who could be affected by the project e.g. hospital patients, children, the elderly etc., 3.5 Any other causes t Applicable Closed loop water system will be implemented in coal washery. Hence there will not be any waste water generation from process and cooling. Zero effluent discharge will be maintained. All environmental regulations will be followed in the proposed project. Hence no adverse impact on hospitals, children, and elderly persons. 4. Production of solid wastes during construction or operation or decommissioning (MT/month). / 4.1 Spoil, overburden or mine wastes The dug soil during excavation will be used for filling of low-lying areas. 4.2 Municipal waste (domestic and or commercial wastes) 4.3 Hazardous wastes (as per Hazardous Waste Management Rules) Disposed off as per norms such material will be generated 4.4 Other industrial process wastes Washery reject generated is being sold to nearby power generating units and same is continued after present proposal. 8

The fugitive emission will be reduced by deployment of Dust extraction system and water sprinkling system. 5.3 Emissions from materials handling including storage or transport 5.4 Emissions from construction activities including plant and equipment Coal crusher and coal pulverizer of the plant is facilitated with adequate Air Pollution Control System. Mist spray water sprinkling system is provided. Closed conveyor system is provided to prevent to fugitive dust emissions. Some dust emissions will be generated during construction. Water spraying system and dust curtains will be deployed to prevent the dust emanation due to construction Activities. 9

Generation of ise and Vibration, and Emissions of Light and Heat:. / 6.1 From operation of equipment e.g. engines, ventilation plant, crushers Coal Crusher will be main source of ise generation. Proposed plant and Machineries are manufactured as per OSHA/MOEF guidelines. Flexible rubber plates are provided at the mounting of machines to absorb vibrations as to reduce noise. Earplugs will be provided to workers working in the noise prone areas. Ambient noise levels will be in accordance with MOEF notification dated i.e. noise levels will be < 75 db (A) during daytime and < 70 db (A) during nighttime. 6.2 From industrial or similar processes The sources of noise generation Proposed unit will be coal crushers etc. All machinery will be manufactured as per OSHA/MOEF guidelines. ise enclosures will be provided to high noise generating units. Risks of contamination of land or water from releases of pollutants into the ground or into sewers, surface waters, groundwater, coastal waters or the sea:. 7.1 From handling, storage, use or spillage of hazardous materials / Good house keeping practice will be maintained. This will eliminate any spillages. 7.2 From discharge of sewage or other effluents to water or the land (expected mode and place of discharge) 7.3 By deposition of pollutants emitted to air into the land or into water Clarified water from Settling ponds will be recycled in the process. Generation of dust during the process will be suppressed by water spraying or sprinkling. All the fugitive emission sources will be facilitates with water suppression system.
