The event stressed the urgency of climate change and escalating prices for conventional power, and the need for Texas to move quickly to deploy significant solar projects at both the utility and consumer scales. Texas receives more solar radiation than any other state and is number one in terms of its solar potential. According to an analysis by the Renewable Energy Policy Project, Texas could attract billions of dollars in investment and create thousands of new jobs in the solar industry. The solar market has become more interested in the environmental and energy demand globally is expected to increase by 34% by The Solar Business Festival is playing a role in the global development by promoting renewable energy in Texas to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG7) "to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all".
