The thermostat is temperature sensor that sends a signa to the boier when the required temperature is reached. To be fuy effective it needs to be sited in the correct position and hard wired in pace, so it shoud be instaed by a competent pumber or heating engineer. 3 Heating contros (thermostatic radiator vaues) Thermostatic radiator vaves aow the temperature of each room to be controed to suit individua needs, adding to comfort and reducing heating bis provided interna doors are kept cosed. For exampe, they can be set to be warmer in the iving room and bathroom than in the bedrooms. Ask a competent heating engineer to insta thermostatic radiator vaves. Thermostatic radiator vaves shoud be fitted to every radiator except the radiator in the same room as the room thermostat. Remember the room thermostat is needed as we as the thermostatic radiator vaves, to enabe the boier to switch off when no heat is required. 4 Band A condensing boier A condensing boier is capabe of much higher efficiencies than other types of boier, meaning it wi burn ess fue to heat this property. This improvement is most appropriate when the existing centra heating boier needs repair or repacement, but there may be exceptiona circumstances making this impractica. Condensing boiers need a drain for the condensate which imits their ocation; remember this when considering remodeing the room containing the existing boier even if the atter is to be retained for the time being (for exampe a kitchen makeover).
