No magic Cleanit LC is an innovative water treatment technology, which uses a specially designed medium capable of removing multiple contaminants from groundwater and drinking water. These contaminants include hexavalent chromium, arsenic, selenium, phosphates, and radioactive isotopes. The base of the cleaning medium are highly porous iron particles combined with proprietary functional components. 100% green, simple and costefficient Cleanit LC cleans water by reducing and adsorbing contaminants. No hazardous byproducts are produced or released during the process and no chemical additives are needed. Cleanit LC has high operating capacity across different phvalues and flow rates. Medium life is typically greater than one year on most applications. Once the medium has been spent, it can be returned back to the supplier for recycling, or disposed in a nonhazardous landfill. Medium replacement is easy and inexpensive. 4 A green revolution in water purification Cleanit LC is a highly efficient, environmentally friendly solution to reduce contaminants in drinking water. It is exceptionally well suited for areas where existing water supplies have been compromised naturally or by a legacy of agricultural and industrial activity. What is Cleanit LC? Manufacturing of Cleanit LC begins with highpurity elemental iron powder, which is combined with proprietary functional additives. The mixture is then processed using unique powder metallurgical technologies to achieve an iron composite medium with high internal porosity, where functional groups are evenly distributed in either free or partially alloyed forms. The reactive surface area of the medium is more than ten times larger than that of normal zerovalent iron (ZVI). and extreme efficiency. 5 Effluent (contaminantfree water) Outlet How it works Cleanit LC is most suitable for adsorptive media filter process with upflow operations. The medium is packed in vertical columns and water is fed from the bottom. Depending on the contaminant type, concentration, and water characteristics, the empty bed contact time (EBCT) for the filter medium ranges from 5 to 30 minutes. Although the medium has a long effective cycle, it can be easily regenerated in the column by using processes such as media fluffing or weak acid wash. After the medium is completely exhausted, the supplier accepts it free of cost. Cleanit medium Column Proven results In the diagram below you can see results from an actual installation in Brazil. Total Chromium Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) is at 50.0 ppb, which is very low. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set MCL for chromium at 100 ppb.
