4 MILLS HK-Series How do they work? HK are used for fine grinding of wood chips and paper. The rapid rotation, fixed hammers and the integrated fan enable a high productivity obtaining homogeneous fractions of wood of up to 1 mm. One of the highlighted features of the HK mills, is the quality of the final fraction obtained, with a very accurate granularity and with a minimum amount of dust. 6 HK-AIR IN DETAIL The HK-Air mill system integrates an internal fan to its shredding system, which makes the grinding system more efficient with a more homogeneous result, in addition to allowing us to convey pneumatically material obviating the need for an additional fan. Engine and Drive Engine with V-belt drive. Hammare Hammers Its cutting system against anvils, provides great efficiency even when worn out, their geometry allows them to be used on 4 occasions, reducing replacement costs. Screens Change system without tools, enabling modification of the output granularity. Fläkt wheel Made in HARDOX, certified, and with optimized geometry for maximum air volume and minimum energy consumption. Thanks to the large volume of air, HK guarantees a homogeneous and high quality material. 6

8 HK-GREEN IN DETAIL The HK-Green Mill is one of a kind. Its design allows shredding different types of materials, green or wet materials, avoiding jams. Engine and Drive Engine with V-belt drive. Hammare Hammers The cutting system against plates provides great efficiency even when worn out, their geometry allows them to be used on 4 occasions, reducing replacement costs. Screens Change system without tools, enabling modification of the output granularity in few minutes. The HK-Green Mill is a clear example of the evolution and the concept of Franssons equipment as being unique, simple and efficient. Significant saving in drying The Franssons Recycling Machines new line of HK-Green Fine Grinders allows us to obtain final particles <10 mm, from green or wet wood. This represents significant saving in drying, both in energy and in time. Splinters <10 mm. of green or wet wood mean a significant saving in drying. 8

10 QUALITY CONTROL 100% MADE IN SWEDEN How is Franssons equipment manufactured? A good design is not enough to turn a machine into a Franssons. Components are equally important and we only accept the highest quality in the market. We seek the highest quality components in the market and we conduct thorough checks thereon. We analyse customer needs and evaluate possible specific manufacturing settings. We select pieces of steel, 100% SSAB Oxelösund. We cut, mill and weld all the mill parts in-house. Once completed, they are submitted to controls of: Construction Operation Energy consumption Process test We carry out strict quality controls on all our machines. The Q-control sticker is the proof that this quality control has been conducted. Quality control 100% guaranteed. 10

14 BIOMASS HAS SECRETS WE KNOW MANY Since 1945, we have manufactured shredders, conveyors and fans for the timber industry in Sundsvall, Sweden. Sundsvall is in the middle of Swedish, an important centre for the timber and paper industry since the nineteenth century. Energy consumption per capita in Sundsvall, is three times higher than in the rest of Sweden (90,000 kwh / inhab.), which shows the existing industrial power. Bioenergy nationwide, according to SVEBIO (Swedish Bioenergy Association), corresponds to a third of total energy consumption. Franssons has been developed in this environment, where wood, heavy industry and bioenergy belong to everyday life 14
